Effects overlapping screen?
Basically, the visual effects like fire, smoke, and other such things are on the top layer of the screen at all time, meaning I can see these effects at all times, regardless of whether or not there's a wall or floor in the way. In most levels, this doesn't hurt gameplay, though it does ruin the scene visually (stepping into the room with the four pillars of energy going through them in Episode I, Chapter 6, for example), and in others, it's obstructive nature hurts my ability to see what to do, like in Episode II, Chapter 3 where the smoke in the factory obscures the fact that I can use the Force to move platforms so that C-3PO can get to the other side of the room and open the door. I had to look up a walkthrough just to see the entire middle of the room in that case.

In other words, at best, it's annoying to look at, and at worst, it damages gameplay. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

Hello, I also was having this issue and the only fix I was able to find was to turn off "enhanced graphics" in the graphics option tab. I honestly cant tell the difference in the quality of graphics if their is any but it did solve the graphics overlay problem making some levels almost unbeatable due to not seeing where to jump and etc. I hope this helps you out. Good luck.

I actually discovered this myself last night, though not by turning enhanced graphics off, so much as the effects in the menu of the same name. Primarily, the shadows seem to cause problems, though bloom also causes it here and there. It's a shame I had to turn shadows off, but since most of the shadows in the game are pre-rendered, I'm mostly losing character shadows, which aren't a big deal, really. Regardless, thank you for your help. c:

Now, let's see if I can ♥♥♥♥ around with config files or something similar to see what the problem with the shadows are...
