How do i beat the Stardestroyer?

I have a problem with the starfighter. I do everything correclty. When it tells me to put mouse up or down and press A or D i do it until it doesnt tell me to do it anymore and the light turns green and then i pull the stardestroyer down a little bit. But sometimes when it turns green and it doesnt tell me to press A or D or move the mouse nothing happens. I just sit there waiting to pull the stardestroyer down and after a while it just tells me to press (for example) A. And i cant see the ship thanks to the resolution problem and that doesnt help either. Please help me.

It's actually nearly impossible to do with mouse. I did it once, on easy , when you can just ignor tiefighter fire.
To do it right you'll need a controller. It's mega easy with it.
