Controller problem - help? Please? Anyone?
Hi,
I am getting a bit frustrated with this game since I am unable to figure out what I am doing wrong. I have recently bought an Xbox 360 controler (from Microsoft) and I would really love to play this game with it. When I start the game with it the launcher shws it in Input Devices as "Xbox 360 Controller". No problem there. But when I start the game nothing actually reacts, it looks like keys are not binded and I am not able to figure out if I am doing anything wrong or how to fix it.
I would be really happy for any help since I have tried basically everything I was able to google about this particular game and my problem.

PS. I have found that it could be setting the controller as default for the game. But I have no idea where... god dang it

too bad lol
Can't get my controller to work either, the game is unplayable without it.

Select 360 controller in launcher, and it should work, it will disable keyboard and mouse completely.

If not try unplugging the contoller from the usb post and reinserting when the game starts, If you're using a wireless adapter, resync it.

Same problem
For those having trouble with a xbox controller of any kind, simply follow these simple steps.

Xbox One Controller and Windows 10 & 7: 1. Restart your machine with the controller plugged in.

2. Once your at your desktop, sign in to steam and bring up your library.

3. Unplug the Xbone controller and plug it back in, the indicator lights under the center button should light up.

4. Boot up the force unleashed and in the options menu where you can select your resolution, hit the controls dropdown menu and select "xbox 360 controller". Click play to luanch the game.

5. Done, you should have controls on the main menu. If not, restart your machine, repeat steps 2 and 3 but this time boot it up with keyboard controls and exit to desktop. Then repeat steps 2,3, and 4.

Ginger's tips: If you have usb 3.0 ports, use them! The Xbone controller is more compatible with these ports and I have had better luck with them in all of my games.

Xbox 360 Controller and Windows 10 & 7: 1. Restart your machine with the controller plugged in and sign back into steam once your at your desktop.

2. Bring up your library and enter big picture mode.

3. Exit big picture mode and unplug the controller, then plug it back in.

Ginger's tips: Xbox 360 controllers are built for usb 2.0 ports, avoid 3.0 ports at all costs!

For those with wireless controllers: Why are you using wireless controllers?

1. Make sure all of your bluetooth drivers, wireless drivers, and short range nfc drivers (If you have them), are up to date.

2. Follow the instructions above based on your controller and operating system. Wherever the tutorial says "unplug" just take out the batteries (or battery pack), re-insert it, and press the xbox logo button.

Ginger's Tips: Wireless Keyboards and Wireless Controllers are like cancer when it comes to compatibility. You might get it, you might not, so please protect your well being and get a wired device.

Good Luck, and have fun.

Ginger's Extra Tips: The game becomes a whole new kind of fun if you scream "UNLIMITEEED POOOOOOOOOWAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!" every time you activate force lightning for an extended period of time.

@THERIDDLERGINGERBOY I have a wireless controller with a Mac so what are your Ginger tips on this?

@SPIDEREPC The force is not with this one. In all seriousness, my advice would be to obtain a wired controller. In my experience, Macs have this bad habbit of refreshing any wireless devices you have connected to them when you exit out of a fullscreen game.

My Ginger Tips for you: 1. As stated above, a wired device is your best friend in this case.

2. If you can get into the game with the keybaord controls, go ahead and turn fullscreen off. This will prevent that nasty little bug I mentioned earlier with wireless controllers.

3. Simply follow the steps above from my last post, but instead of shutting your Mac down completely, simply exit out of steam and log back in.

Hope this helps, as it has been a while since Ive had anything to do with a Mac.

I don't know all about what these folks are saying. I downloaded a program (I forget the name, was so long ago) and installed it on my laptop and that got it to work. Well not excataly. I use a ps3 controller instead of an x-box controller. The thing I downloaded tricks the ps3 controller into thinking it's connected to a ps3 system, tricks the Computer to think an X-box 360 controller is plugged in, and translated the ps3 controller program language into one the computer can understand. But it had options for both ps3 controller and x-box 360 controller.

I do know that if you want to connect an X-box controller wirelessly, you have to buy some kind of thing to plug into your computer to connect, I forget the name. but youtube'll tell you.
