Played this title quite a bit as a child, but its just to be honest: It have aged about as well as a carton of milk left out in the sun. The graphics work just fine(they werent top notch back at release either), even if theres glarin compability issues making it look uglier than need be. The controls on the other hand dont work well, and playing it now compared to some other older titles, I wonder how the heck I was able to put so many hours into it when I was younger. I dont think you have much to get here other than nostaligia, or if youre a die hard fan of star wars.
If you are playing on a high-resolution screen, you will have issues with knowing your armor, ammo and health, as the meters get cut off down in the corners and at the bottom of the screen. You can get to see the entire play-screen by using the display options tho. Theres no possibility for windowed mode which makes the limited resolution options problematic. The controls feel "slippery" and sloppy, comparing to other games from the same year like Half Life or Blood 2; this game feels like its playing on an ice level.
When I saw this game for sale on steam, I instantly bought it for the nostaliga. But I was heavily dissapointed that no work have been made to make it more compatible with todays systems, and there is no shine up to make it slightly more appealing. I will probably finish this game at some point, but I cant find it worthy of being recommended to anyone, but the most die hard, nostalgia crazed star wars fans.
