Invisible Chraracter Glitch

I have looked all over the web to try and find a way to fix this, but haven't found anything about it. The problem I'm having is that the game works fine, until I get down to the Taris lower sewer area, then at some point in the area parts of characters start becoming invisible, it happens with PC, NPC, and even some of the corpses on the ground. I also have the problem of when I go into the city down there and you have to choose to save Handan (I think that's his name) I have to let him die. If I try to go out there to save him, the game freezes. Can anyone help me with this issue?

I'm running windows 8.

hm, I just started a new save, and my character is invisible form the very beginning

Not sure why the game would crash when running out to save Hendar, but the transparent textures is an issue found on Windows 7 as well sadly. It has to do with the alpha layer of reflective textures being transparent. At least, assuming that's the same issue. See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t-uVuJMXfg

Probably not the same issue as the OP. I learned of this a while back though and apparently there's an unofficial fix for it on the internet.

After much searching I found out how to fix the problem of the characters disappearing. I cant remember how you do it off the top of my head. I'll have to check.

Could you list what the incompatibility was? I'm having the same problem which I'm assuming is resulting from a mod problem but I honestly have no idea which it could be, and at risk of sounding overly lazy, I'd rather find the solution than begin going and testing each possible problem.
