Black screen on menu after Malak image (SOLVED: updated desc.)

Okay so basically as soon as I click past the Malak image (waiting without clicking doesn't affect anything) to get to the main menu, the screen just goes black. (If I ctrl+shift+esc then click the game again, sometimes it works though only temporarily)

I have tried many 'solutions' I've found online like setting the game up to play in 1080, turning off Frame Buffer and Soft Shadows, turning on V-Sync, playing in compatability mode for XP Service Pack 3, running as administrator, the rest of compatability settings, turning off movies, etc. etc. yet nothing has worked for me.



EDIT: Nevermind. Apparently I'm a ♥♥♥♥ing idiot because I totally forgot to check what graphics processor it was set to use and it was auto-set to integrated, which I switched off that to my Nvidia graphics processor. Now it works fine.

So if anyone else has any problems running this game, make sure to check what graphics processor it's set to use, since it apparently defaults to and does not like the Integrated graphics setting.
