Is this at all similar to Rogue Squadron?

I used to love Rogue Squadron, which this game appears to be emulating. Different developer. Thoughts?

Remember playing this as a child, great game better than squadron in my opinion.

It plays similar, but the ship controls like it was skating on ice o_o
Rogue Squadron was awesome, they should put the first one on Steam (and port 2 and 3 to PC, although I have them on Gamecube, I will buy them again to play them in HiRes).
