Really? Who forces you?
You're just a typical whiny kid (or child-like person) on the internet. Something does not go your way and you start spewing wild accusations without any regard to real life constraints, feasibility, etc.
If you really did some research you would know that the dev is working alone. There is no team and thus development takes its time.
You could not be more wrong. This game is finished. And there is still development.
I rate video games like movies as far as ...
Entertainment Cost Per Hour (ECPH).
The ECPH of a movie in the theater is about $10-12 or so per person. And you don't get a copy to take home. Buy a movie the ECPH is $8-10 for a new release.
I paid $20 for VanR. I played it about 4 times then messed with it here and there. I have 18 hours in the game. My ECPH for VanR is $1.12! Even with your 3 hours the cost is around $7.
This is good entertainment dollars in my opinion.
You are right, gamers expect 20+ hours (and more) from computer games. This makes these games a great entertainment value considering ECPH. (This does NOT include subscription MMO games of course).
If you pay $60 for a game and play if for 100 hours (me and Skyrim!) the ECPH is 60 cents an hour. GREAT VALUE!
You do have to consider the cost of the device you play on over time(my $800 VIVE). Still, computer games can be the BEST entertainment value.
even though i have bought the game i would put more in kickstrater even if it was to pre buy any more game content.
It's great that you got that much time out of it. And to hear an alternate point of view. I completed all of the content, and replayed parts of it several times, and I'm only at 2 hours of game time. Edit - I'm going to make a point of playing it again from start to finish soon.
I agree that it is a great experience. And if it had 2 hours of content written on the box, I'd still probably be happy to pay $20. I bought it near release, and in the first 10 minutes of playing it, I had visions of future D&D style modules, co-op, player content, etc.
Fair enough, that's not where the game headed. But my issue is that the dev has just bailed, while it's still being sold as in development, and no updates are coming.
