SpaceForce: Rogue Universe

SpaceForce: Rogue Universe

Do not buy this game!
I bought this on CD years ago and I have to say this is the worst space sim to ever exist. its full of bugs and problems, the graphics may look nice from the screen shots but theres many many problems with it.

Theres almost no story. Straight out of the door you are attacked by 3 ships that majory outclass you and you have no chance of beating unless you are the best pilot ever. And the next part of the mission is to go to a place and fight some enemies you will never get to. Enemy pilots level up over the corse of time but after 20 hours you wont even have enough experience for level 1, yet most of the enemys you find are well over your level and have better guns and ships.

Theres a few mission types you can get at bounty boards but each bounty will cost you credits just to take and often cost more credits to take than is rewarded. Missions range frm boring "scan satelite" missions which you cant actualy do because theres no way to scan anything if you change the keybindings, to sabotage missions where you have to sabotage a station or a ship and they will kill you instantly if you go anywher enear them, and Hunt and destroy missions which you will never be able to beat because the enemys will allways outclass you

Combat sucks, you need the right gun for the right ship type and hull type and shield type but you can only equip 2 sets of 2 guns and it takes a long long time just to bring down their shields, which recharge instantly after a few secs. Yet all enemy ships can fire backwards out the rear of thier ships and kill u in just a few hits. You can hire wingmen, but they are very exphensive, will keep costing you money for hirage, and can just say "bye" and fly away at any moment for any random reason.

The minining in it is a chore, and it takes a very long time to get enough resources to make anything. Theres no save function at all, when u die you respawn but u have lost all your cargo. and your resources. Stations you have sold cargo to (to hold for you because you dont have enough cargo space on your ship) are reset when you die or reload. And what makes it worse is that you can get randomly killed for no reason. An alien battlecruiser from the other side of the sector can target you and take you out with 1 shot. And you can be killed by random meteor showers at any time which kill you in just a few seconds and you cant dodge them or run away.

The developers abandoned the game as soon as it was launched and only released one patch, which didnt fix any of the 100s of bugs and issues with the game.

It's not a quick and immediate arcade space-shooter, sorry...

It's a very good space-flight immersive RPG sim, Elite: Frontier-like, hard, virtually infinite, commerce, fight (with wings and mercenaries too), missions, careers with different factions, it's explorative, fascinating... New generations will hate it, old players generation will love it.

Here is the fix to the "100s bugs": https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=237754342

The 'tutorial' is aweful, may try again later, but not worth the time at the moment.

Hehe)) - there is no tutorial in game - you just begin the story quest. Read about keys in menu.)))))))))
P.S. Save in SF like in Diablo II - you just save your ship and gear + money - every map random and change after loading. Load in SF - 1st) "Restore profile", 2) "Start game". You start on random point of system. And at last - "awful" not "aweful".:Horzine::Horzine::Horzine:
hey guys, this guy is barely touching the bar here. after i bought the game, i noticed that my VIPRE antivirus software had quarantined the .exe file for the game. I thought it was just messing with me. But get this, after i disabled the protection, the game worked! Sadly, it came with a price, a TROJAN virus was inside of the .exe file and invaded my pc, thank heaven for WINDOWS RESTORE. now i cant play the game because of the bloody virus, anyone else have this issue? or is it only me?

If there's a virus inside of your game files then either it implanted it's self from another source because you were already infected previous to playing the game, or it was on Steam's end.

All files in Steam's downloading servers are of course checked for viruses or malicious intent within software before being released to the public.

The virus could also have infected your Steam client in general. I would suggest making sure you keep your own computer clean.

McAfee is the worst virus protect software there is, viruses just go straight through and it is well known for giving false positives. Its no wonder your having problems with it.

Get yourself some PROPER anti virus.

Most of these crap, free anti virus programs report false positives all the time.

i'm using a legal Norton and i've never had a single issue with it. Am i paying for it? Hell yes.

Another frustrating space game like X3.
Darkstar One is the only space game in recent times that makes me want to play it.

Plus this game doesn't work fully in windows 7.I don't get any cutscenes.

Uh, this game plays exactly as Darkstar One. I have no idea why you're comparing it to X3 which is more a point and click game than a sim.

That said, you should probably wait for Star Citizen to release next year. If you don't know who's behind it, it's Chris Roberts, the guy who made Freelancer. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/
