SDK and SRCDS issues
There are problems with both Source SDK Hammer and the Source Multiplayer Dedicated Server for HL2DM.
They don't work properly (not launching or missing stuff) if you don't change the "gameinfo.txt" under "\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp" from the default.
The values that you have to change are
SteamAppId 320 -(To 220)-
SearchPaths
{
Game |gameinfo_path|.
Game hl2mp
Game |all_source_engine_paths|hl2 -(to just "hl2")-
}
It's strange and it rewrites itself after opening the game so you have to do it every time you want to launch these tools.
Please address this issue.

A temporary fix might be to make that file read only.

doesn't that mean i won't be able to have server and client running at same time?

For Source SDK just run it in 2009 and ep2 mode. (For now)
When hammer has loaded Configer Hammer and add the hl2mp FGD file. (So you can add/see the Deathmatch player spawns etc)

You can compile the map fine cause I did this when SDK messed up last Oct for my church map.

so it's the same engine. good to know I'll start mapping under hl2 sp
