My theory on Rachel Amber

I think that Rachel also had the ability to rewind time. After talking to all the students about her, they all said that she was their friend. She partied with the cool kids. She skated with the skaters. She modeled for the artists. Etc. I realized that I was doing exactly that with Max. I'd talk to someone, make an ass of myself while finding out the proper way to impress them, rewind time, and do things right. I know it's not that much evidence, but it's what I feel in my gut.

That's actually a super interesting theory.

It raises more questions about what happened to her though. Whenever Max was in trouble she could instantly rewind time and put herself in a more favorable position, so what happened that Rachel Amber wasn't able to?

I like this theory. She certainly seems to have been very special. Everybody loved her. Except Victoria.
As for her disappearance, it's pretty hard to kill someone who has time travelling powers. You would have to get them by surprise, and in a way they die instantly.
I think what happened is that her powers went out of control or something and now GIANT TORNADO OF SPACETIME DOOM is coming to town.

I can see that. Chole also mentions that Rachel "saves her life". Not sure how to explain why Max has these powers too but it could link how they manifest, through the act of saving someone. Still currious about the person she met before she disappeared.

Never thought of that, but it does make sense. Initially I thought it was a bit of a cop-out and unrealistic after talking to everyone on campus that she was apparently insanely popular and friends with "Every" clique and group.. but yeah, we were indeed doing the same thing with our powers.

Yeah, she initially struck me as kind of a mary sue, but if she's perfect and cooler than cool because she has similar time powers... that would make a lot of sense. I'm really hoping that she's not dead, and I think the game gives her too much significance for her to be.

Great idea. I think it was in the third of the Butterfly Effect movies where there was a second time-traveller, but he was a killer the protagonist was trying to stop. Every time he changed time, things got a lot worse and he didn't know why.

Tie that to the decisions we've made in episode 1 and I'm not so sure I for one did the right things.

I think that Chloe's stepfather killed her, and that's what all the paranoia is. Kate is friends with Chloe, and she's been digging into it because she's upset for Chloe, so now Chloe's stepfather is watching her.

Cool and fare enough theory.
Max's power would let her to fix everything right,
include friendship with her classmates ,
make her popular , just like Rachel Amber.

But, That seems doesn't work on Victoria for Rachel.
And the Power on Max can rewind time for several minutes only,
Then Rachel last time been seem was 6 months ago.

Considering on "About this game", it says:

Meanwhile, Max begins to have premonitions as she struggles to understand the implications of her power. She must quickly learn that changing the past can sometimes lead to a devastating future.

I'm just going to take a guess here in that Amber found this out the hard way. Whatever happened to her, it was likely due to her using her power too much, if this theory holds true.

Well certain things with your characters powers like that items she's carrying she'll still have after a rewind I wonder if she were injured(shot or stabbed or whatever the case) before she could prevent it if she'd still be injured after the rewind.
