As a longtime Nancy Drew fan, i've played everysingle game and this is one I am easily able to recommend to newer nancy drew players.

This game simply doesn't run on newer computers. And by newer, I mean anything newer than Windows 98. I have no idea how the actual game is because it won't run! But it's probably fun if you can make it work.

EDIT:
Since posting this, I got some info for how to make the game work. Yay!

1. Right click on Desktop
2. Select Screen Resolution (if you do not see screen resolution select Personalize then select Display Settings from the resulting pop-up window)
3. Click Detect or Identify Monitors (with no additional monitor connected)
4. Next to your first display, you'll see a grey square with the text "Another display not detected" Click on the grey square
5. Next to "Multiple displays" it will say "No display detected"
6. Click on "No display detected"
7. A drop-down menu will appear
8. Select "Try to connect anyway on: VGA"
9. Click on your primary display (the square with the big "1" in it)
10. Next to "Multiple displays" select "Duplicate Display"
Hit the “Apply” button and start the game.
If duplicating the display does not work, then try choosing “Extend Display.” Extending the displays can cause windows you open to be “hidden” on the non-existent second monitor, so it isn’t the best option, but it should work to play the game – “duplicate displays” is a better option if available. This change can be reversed once you have finished playing the game.

For me the characters, plot, and puzzles were all strange or didn't link up in a way that made playing it enjoyable. Easy enough to beat, but was not exactly interesting.

It was fun :) It wasn't very difficult apart from fighting Minette at the end (it took me 3 times) and also when I was trying to do the photo challenge I had to retake ALL of the pictures because for some reason it wouldn't work and Dieter wouldn't come out of the dark room. To be honest though, the ending didn't really make sense and I think that they definitely could have made one that actually somewhat went with the story as it was pretty anticlimactic considering she found the art which was a pretty big part of the story. I also think Minette wearing the mask because of a tattoo was kind of dumb and if they wanted it to be a tattoo they should have had it connect with the story (this is just me being picky about the ending but :/)

A solid midtier ND game. In terms of gameplay, nothing feels too repetitive or boring, and the puzzles are mostly all fun and satisfying to solve. There are some stumpers including a lot of endgame stuff that relies on optional items to understand what exactly you're doing, so I definitely recommend having a guide of some kind on hand for this one. Overall the characters are unique and memorable, but the setting and environments feel incomplete and kind of limited. For a game set in Paris there's just not much to do, and what you do see of the city is mainly limited to spaces that you can interact with other characters. The story and mystery is also a bit muddled, with the game providing an endgame exposition dump to tie the whole thing together. Still, though the mystery is second rate, the puzzles and gameplay are solid and fun.

Look, I love Nancy Drew games... most of the time.

This was not one of those times. The ending was random, anti-climatic, and had an annoying twist of having to fight someone. (Which requires both crazy dexterity and memorization.) Most of the side-plots get zero resolution.

There's also a timed event that occurs while a conversation is going on. Time limits are always stressful for me, but I get it, it's Nancy Drew. There tends to be at least one in each game. But *while listening to chatter*? Ugh. No. Just... no.

I will note that some of the puzzles were quite enjoyable, so I'll give the game that. (There were also times when I felt a little more direction would've been nice.)

If you're a completist? Go for it. But if you're a Nancy Drew gamer who wants to just play the ones they're going to enjoy the most? I'd give it a pass.

Yet another outing for this popular P&C puzzler. Not as good as some but still worth a bash if part of a cheap pack. There are a couple glitches in the puzzles but they are not show stoppers and you can easily just guess the missing elements.

I'm playing my way through all of the ND games, and I suspect most people reading this review are too, regardless of reviews! But here are my thoughts anyway.

for the games I've played so far, this one is my current favorite! I loved the concurrent plotlines going on in this one and it's also extremely funny. great puzzles; this is one of the most streamlined ND games where it felt very clear what to do next and how to hunt for the puzzle solutions. I would definitely recommend this as a starter game! I can't think of any negatives I experienced, 10/10 would experience nancy being yelled at for butchering the french language again
