Youtube / Video Policy?
Does anyone (or perhaps a Developer can answer) know the Video-Policy for this game?
I have a YouTube channel and was considering to make some Let's Play vids of this game, but I can't find anything about the video-policy on the Developer's website, nor did I find anything doing a search on the forums here.

For example, Valve has a video-policy page, which gives permission to make videos of their games: http://www.valvesoftware.com/videopolicy.html

I was thinking I'll buy this game, but I was hoping this game might have a similar policy (similar to the Valve video-policy I mentioned), which could then be good extra exposure and publicity for this game, thus may result in extra sales for the Developers too. Thanks. :)

Hey LoneWolfDon -- I'm PR & Communications Lead at Harmonix! Go ahead and capture footage, monetize it, stream it, whatever. :) You make a good point regarding a video-policy, for sure, and that's maybe something we can look at for future titles.

Historically, Harmonix has created games that contained licensed music, which makes us unable to explicitly allow for streaming, capturing, etc. In the case of A City Sleeps, however, it contains wholy original (and awesome) compositions, and we actively encourage people share their playthroughs!

@Nick Chester: Excellent! :) Hey, thanks for the reply and permission to go ahead and make some Let's Play on your game. From what I've seen on the trailer & a couple of Let's Play type of vids of your game, it looks & sounds like an awesome game, so I look forward to playing it soon.

Aside from a potential boost of exposure / publicity from allowing YouTubers to make vids of a game (and speaking for myself, there's several games I've decided to buy after watching some gameplay vids of it on YouTube), I think it also helps to foster goodwill in the gaming community for such games and the Developers thereof.

I was concerned that the music in this game might give a copyright-hit, so it's good to know that it should be okay to put vids of this game on YouTube. Often when making a Let's Play of games I will turn off the music (to be on the safe-side, because it seems that music is the culprit for the larger majority of copyright-hits with gaming-videos on YouTube), but for this game your music appears to be a big part and appeal of the game.

Congratz on your game. I hope you have much success with it.
Being an aspiring Indie Game Developer myself, I know that a lot of time, work and resources can go into making a good game. Cheers! :)

Hi Nick. Just a quick follow-up to let you know I finally got around to trying "A City Sleeps" game and made my first Let's Play video of it (excuse the delay, as I've been quite busy with so much else of the go).

Wow! Awesome game. I'm really digging it (even though I'm still much a 'newbie' at playing it); lovin' the groovy electronica / techno -like music, the stylish visuals and of course the fast-paced shoot-em-up action. My hat's off to the Harmonix team. Keep up the good work! :)
