Games similar to Puzzle Agent?
Does anybody know another game which are similar to Puzzle Agent 1 + 2? One that is atmospheric, funny, and has real puzzles?
It does not have to incorporate all of this, but has the same vibe...

Thanks in advance.

I don't know if you have NDS or 3DS. If you have, try Professor Layton series. good stories and puzzles.

Hey, thx for the answer. I tried the first Professor Layton, but was rather uninterested in the story. And the puzzles often were not related to the story, which I did not like.

The Room 1,2 and soon 3. They're for Android (and I think iPhone). The puzzles are entirely built around the story and the level design. Simple, elegant, but hellishly difficult!

Broken Sword series or Phoenix Wright.
Blue Toad Murder Files: The Mysteries of Little Riddle

It can be hard to find a game with a good balance of the more "pencil" and "logic" types of puzzles along with atmosphere and story. The mood and humor in Puzzle Agent are unique, and I've not found that duplicated anywhere else. Telltale Games who made P.A. also did a modernized "Monkey Island" series and "Sam & Max" which are funny and well produced, in a comedy/adventure/light puzzles sort of way.

Though they are not cut from the same cloth as Puzzle Agent or the Layton Series, I have enjoyed the puzzles and artistic sensibilities in these games on Steam: "The Cave" "Bookworm Adventures 2" "The Bridge" "Girls Like Robots" "Lume"

Kapitan H, I initially had the same thoughts you did on the first Professor Layton game. Without spoiling anything, I can safely say that the plot becomes much more interesting and the puzzles become retroactively relevant to the story once you hit a certain point and a major plot twist happens. Give it another try! I have yet to play any more in the series, but would like to.

You need to play them all. I have played through all of them except the final 3DS one. They progressivly get better and better. Layton is probably my favorite gaming franchise.

There's also an older title called Safecracker. It has a barebones story and many varied puzzles. You can solve the challenges in almost any order you choose, similar to The Room (but not nearly as challenging.) Added bonus is it's usually less than $2.00 on Steam.

Big Brain Wolf
The "Metal Dead" here on steam is a great puzzle game to get , if you have not tried it. Story is quite humorus and puzzles are enjoyable to figure out. One of the best ones I have played on Steam. I picked it up on sale for $0.49 cents and soon the game is receiving some free DLC which is another plus. I would reccommend it to anyone who enjoys this type of game. Steam achievments and cards also are there, as well as a story book with info about the characters past. I hope this was helpful .......:SBpenguin:

:D Metal Dead looks fun. I might try it. And Big Brain Wolf reminds me very much of Toonstruck, which is a good thing. I tried Hotel Dusk, but it wasn't quite my game. I also played the Room, but it lacks characters, and so it seems does Safecracker... I played through Broken Sword 1 and 2, but lost interest when they went with 3D models, which I don't like for adventure games (except Grim Fandango). I might also try Blue Toad Murder Files, even when reviews were mixed. In case of "The Cave", "Bookworm Adventures 2", "The Bridge", "Girls Like Robots", "Lume", I am afraid I do not like the art style of any of these games. But I will probably look into Sam & Max and Monkey Island...

Thank you guys for the suggestions.

Beware the absurd difficulty spikes in Blue Toad Murder Files puzzles...You can't go wrong with Sam & Max if you like old school LucasArts-style humor. I raise a glass to you in your continued adventures.
