problem with Custom maps
when i load some of them i cant spawn, i just freeze in spectator mode and hear "okay lets move out!"

Sounds to me like that the custom maps that you're trying to load weren't specifically created/tailored for Day of Defeat.

Day of Defeat requires the "classname" entities "info_player_allies" and "info_player_axis" within the map to define the two teams' spawn points.

Other GoldSource engine based games (H-L/CS/CS:CZ/DMC/Ricochet) use "info_player_start" and "info_player_deathmatch" for their player spawns.

Hence, if you load one of these maps into DoD, you will never actually spawn, but be stuck in spectator mode (as those maps do not include the "info_player_allies" and "info_player_axis" spawn point entities within the map).


BTW, FYI (a side note), for H-L/DMC/Ricochet maps; they usually only include a single "info_player_start", with numerous "info_player_deathmatch" spawn points/entities.

For CS/CS:CZ you can actually load and play these maps in those games. BUT, there will only be a SINGLE Counter-Terrorist spawn point ("info_player_start"), with numerous Terrorist spawn points ("info_player_deathmatch").


P.S. You can use a tool such as "BSPedit" from here -> http://cs.gamebanana.com/tools/5061 to edit any map's entities.

With that tool you can change all of the "info_player_start" map entities to "info_player_allies", and all of the "info_player_deathmatch" map entities to "info_player_axis".

Like I replied previously, note that you'll have to manually add/create a bunch of "info_player_allies" map entities, as almost all H-L/Ricochet/DMC maps only have ONE "info_player_start" map entity.
