The mod started development in 2000 and was release as a mod shortly after.
However Valve picked it up in 2003 and released it as a full product.

CoD players hate every FPS. I know this because im friends with a CoD nut and im an ex CoD "community" member, then, about 2, almost now 3 years ago I got into PC gaming and have loved every second of it.
now, honestly, if CoD just straightened its community out, and actually put TIME into their games, I feel like they could really bring back the good the games had in their early days, like, they should look at GTA V, it was like 4 or 6 years in development, and it did AMAZING, if they diddnt shove out an unfinished, buggy, rushed product EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. they could make a quality, FPS game.

or re-release world at war with more maps, updated graphics, and more balanced weapons.

yeah except CoD doesnt do run and gun very good, they need it more like quake, if they want a realistic military game, go for a more ArmA style approach to it, if you want a run and go, go with a quake style approach, but instead its a CHEAP run and gun that is ADVERTISED as an ArmA style military simulator

Stop trying to act like you know what real combat is. Real combat is hell, there's no glory it in whatsoever. It's just a bucket of stress, grief, and agony. CoD used to be good, like, 1-3 was good. But then it got ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

CoD has at least 13 games, and of those 13, there's only like 3 or 4 games that I actually liked.
1: The original
2: Modern Warfare 1
3: World at War
4: (This one's a stretch) Black Ops 2.

The rest was either okay, or downright ♥♥♥♥. Personally, I prefer Counter Strike, Team Fortress, Halo, and DoD even if I don't play DoD much.
