Beta Branch Update - Patch 6
Greetings Brothers,

We're pleased to update the Beta testing branch!

This new update is part of our development of the major content addition coming later this year with the release of Space Hulk: Deathwing on consoles - free on PC.

Today we expand the new game mode Special Missions implemented with the last update to all the existing maps, both in singleplayer and multiplayer! As a reminder, Special Missions are different objectives randomly chosen to be achieved by your squad.

For more details on the Enhanced Edition, please see the previous update post here

We plan to deploy this new update very soon and updated the Beta branch to make sure we release the patch in the best possible state. As always, your feedback about its content are more than welcome. Please focus your feedback on new content (Special Missions + New Multiplayer Skills).

New Multiplayer Skills
  • Proximity Mine
    • Places an explosive proximity mine.
    • Heavy Weapon Skill
  • Skull Drone
    • Summons a combat drone to temporarily fight at your side.
    • Tactic Skill
  • Frenzy
    • Briefly increases your melee attack speed.
    • Assault Skill
  • Fire Storm
    • Briefly increases your weapon's rate of fire.
    • Heavy Weapon Skill
Full Special Missions Mode
  • All 7 chapters playable.
  • All the content can be access in singleplayer (in the main menu) and multiplayer (through a lobby).
  • You unlock the special missions in singleplayer after completing the chapter in the solo campaign. For example if your best save is in the chapter 7, you have access to singleplayer special missions from Chapter 1 to 6.
  • If you lost your saves or didn't finish the campaign, but want to try the new game mode in singleplayer, you'll find HERE[cdn.focus-home.com] a file unlocking all special missions. Put the file in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\SpaceHulkGame\Saved\SaveGames

How to access the patch 6 open beta
  • From your Steam library, right-click on ‘Space Hulk: Deathwing’ then go to Properties > Betas
  • Select the beta “nextpatch”
  • Launch the game to start the update

How to report issues and bugs

Please report any issues encountered in the Technical section on the Steam Hub with the flag [BETA] in the title.

Before posting your feedback, please read the known issues list carefully.

In order to help us to locate and fix bugs, please include the dump files and DxDiag in your report. Try to give us as much details as possible about the issue and what you were doing when it happened. Screenshots are also welcome.
  • Dump files - first, you must enable the visibility of “Hidden Folders” in your Windows settings. You can find how to do it on Google. Then, go to "C:\Users\CURRENTUSER\AppData\Local\SpaceHulkGame\Saved\Logs" (replace "currentuser" by your User Name on your computer). If you crashed, the game automatically creates a folder that you can compress into a .zip (or .rar) file and attach in your post.
  • DxDiag - Press the WINDOWS key (bottom left), then type DXDIAG in the Search Bar and click on the corresponding program. A diagnosis will be executed then. After it's done, click on "Save all information" and save the DxDiag as text file (.txt).
After this, all you need to do is to compress them into a zip file (with the Dump files) and attach it to your post here with a detailed description of your crash.

The Emperor calls once again for your assistance - to battle!

The Emperor calls, Brother-Developer. I shall answer the call with hammer and bolter!
YES YES BUT.. WE NEED MORE RADIO CHATTER AND HEART THUMPING BACKGROUND MUSIC.
Does that mean you've just given up on even trying to fix the framerate, or?
Gorgeous Brothers devs!! Many thanks for the good job!! I hope that's the first true step to more and more good additional content! Keep on the good work for the glory of imperium!!
Well crap now I have to enjoy it! These actually sound pretty cool, I mean like a small combat buddy that'll fly around and shoot stuff. Exciting!
Servoskull with bolter is fun :)
Apo no longer has Mace. (edit: known issue, just read that post)

Sweet... downloading as a type !
wow but.. more add sever can play players??
will def try it out when this patch comes out of beta. dont play as much anymore but i still have faith in this game, still installed, for all its problems it still has something thats keeping me interested in it.
still dont have relics showing up...
Did Librarian get nerfed?
Shockwave CD is 15s with Force Sword. I think it was 6s with Sword and 3s with Axe.

Heavy skill Mine - 100 or 120s for an explosion comparable to a Plasma Cannon shot. Lower CD to... IDK, 20-30s to make it useful. Or improve damage significantly, like 2-3x at least. (like the Librarian's fireball)
Does Fire Storm work on Plasma Cannon? I did not notice while it lasted (2-3 shots).

Excellent work! I will try it out tonight. 8-)
Agree on the Heavy skill Mine - decrease the duration or (more preferrably) increase its explosive output. It should be like Broodlord level takedown yield. But give it a big build up, with audible countdown bleep.

Not sure about Librarian nerf - i dont remember Shockwave getting down to 3s with axe. Possible, but by the time I got axe I had moved to other more powerful spells.

ServoSkull once its deployed should bob and weave in the air a little more. Maybe give it too an audible: "Enemy detected" "Xenos inbound" "Opening fire" stuff like that - all in that creepy tinny robotic servitor voice that 40k does so well.

Firestorm should also prevent jams. Does it do that?

No.

Used to be 10-ish without force weapon for both shockwave and lightning, 6s or so with sword and 3s with axe. As a librarian I barely ever used a bolter after getting the axe. Spam the Force every 3s by hitting 1-2 at the same time :) Used to get more kills than assault / heavy marines. With the Shockwave every 3s, the big bugs had no chance, they were practically in a constant stagger.
I'm talking about coop of course.
