Quick Tip About Controllers/Rebindable Keys
Hey Guys,

While we work on rebindable keys (which will take a little bit) I thought I would mention an important tip for people having trouble with their controllers. When you hit start game (from the title screen) the game will use whatever input device you selected start game with. If you want to use a keyboard you should CLICK (with your mouse) start game. If you want to use a controller you should SELECT ( start, a button, whatever) start game with the controller. If you ever accidentally hit start game on the wrong input device you can always back out to the main menu and try again. Hope this clears up some confusion.

TotalBiscuit had this issue with his 360 controller. He gave your game a very strong review. Check the criticism for yourself, one of them was keys not being rebindable, which sounds like a patch on the way. Good job, the last games I've seen him review didn't leave me wanting to play them at all. :csgox:

Thanks Edward, we sent him an e-mail about it. Seems like he enjoyed the game so we'd prefer him to be able to use the controller since it seems to be his preferred input device.

Hey, I am using an old 3rd-party ps2 controller (I know). I normally use x360ce to get it recognized as a xbox controller but it does not seem to work with ascendant. Does anyone have any experience with that?

Actually my issue with the 360 controller right now is that it doesn't always move down when using the left thumb stick, making the menu a pain and almost impossible to drop down through platforms. I have to move it down sometimes 10 times before it registers.

All other directions work fine and the controller works fine on other games, when in the config program it shows all axis work for the left thumb stick. Also the d-pad seems to work in all directions.

Have tried reconfiguring the controller and reinstalling drivers, the problem is still the same.

While we are looking into fixing the dead zone issue you can use the D-pad as a quick workaround. Sorry for the inconvenience, we'll get back to you soon.

You might have some success with MotionJoy. That is what we have been using withour PS3 controllers: http://www.motioninjoy.com/

Nononono. Please don't promote motioninjoy. It's a dreadful piece of software, and can even cause BSOD's because of its poor memory management. XInput Wrapper for DS3 is a much better solution.

Are rebinds for controllers in the works along with keyboard rebinds? The controls for my controller are very messed up for this game and I've love to be able to rebind them to fix it (when it uses the right bumper as the start button you can see how it could get annoying).

You will be able to rebind your controller as well.

Thank goodness for rebindable keys. That's been my biggest complaint so far; the current key spread is not conducive to gaming efficiency.

I use keyboard, but my controller keeps rumbling. How can i stop that? It always freaks me out since the controller is on a wooden shelf...

And regarding the rebindable keys - you seriously need to do that. I can’t even pass the tutorial because i find it impossible to dash left for a longer period of time. Also please keep in mind an options to bind key combinations. For example, i would love to use "C" + "A/D" to dash, or something similar.

I'm really glad this is being worked on. I can't use my controller because the controls are badly scrambled and nothing is mapped to the magic button, and I find the keyboard controls really cumbersome.

when you add rebindable keys will I be able to set it so I can double tap A or D to dash?
