SE would need to hand the source over to someone who knows what they are doing to fix it, but the guys they have working on it took a month to write a confirmation screen for when you hit escape.
I basically have no hope I'll ever get to play this game on my computer
Damn, that's sad to hear... Thanks for the info tho.
It's clearly something in the timing, with a stroke of luck if I isolated the correct code I could have a fix in a few hours.
I wouldn't expect Lightning Returns to be any different, either. It will be ported in the same fashion, with the same performance and be released for $15-$20 in a mostly playable but sometimes sluggish state, just like the others. All you can hope for is if you want XV released on PC they have developed it using an engine that was designed around PC, not a console game port.
Wait, what? Cheat engine, get 60 fps instead of 20? Care to explain how to do it please? XD (My GPU get to like 70% max while i play)
Will try it, and one more thing. "It's clearly something in the timing, with a stroke of luck if I isolated the correct code I could have a fix in a few hours." So basically you're telling me that there is a slight chance that you'll make a fix for this? :p
What's sad is that I'm sure that I'm not the only one who would have been willing to pay a higher price to make it a good port. They pretty much wanted to make a quick buck with a sloppy port.
Personally I won't be buying anymore SqEnix games on PC until they fix the games they already made, no matter how good the XV port is. If they never fix them, I guess I'll never be buying them. Buying more of their games without holding them accountable for the crap job they've done on others is basically saying I approve of how they handled these ports, which personally I won't do and I hope others will stand their ground as well. We need to send a message that they can't just get away with selling half-♥♥♥♥♥ products to us without any support or fixes.
The game doesnt run badly on all computers... It really depends on the system build. I am asuming this game was "emulated" as it seems to work well on high end machines like mine. Besides, this game is awesome, if you can run it of course.
I seriously doubt Square give an f to be honest.
I don't think it's because they don't care but more than likely they don't want to put in time, resources, and money to hire some guys to optimize this game. They probably wouldn't have implemented the graphics options and resolution patch if it wasn't for Durante's Gedosato program which has the same exact function.
It would have only cost square hundreds of dollars to have fixed this in the first place.
Programming projects are only expensive when you have morons who take forever to do simple things, a company as large as sqare should have a few aces in the hole just for this type of scenerio.
