Controlling a Town
How do you take over a town? Kill all troops & police and the mayor? Thanks.

You can send your troops to take over a sector. Or you kill the enemies yourself and talk to the mayor afterwards to tell him you're in charge now.

Hmm...so we go back to Sagrada to turn in the Miguel Quest after killing him...it says I should go there to claim my reward...I notice the town has turned red and controlled by the rebels....The police captin wont talk to me to let me turn in the quest....no text option to do so...i figure its because the rebels now control the town....I decide to liberate the town and take control of it like what is stated above....I waltz up to every Rebel in the city and shoot them and they dont fight back....they just stand there....I am fairly sure all rebels have been killed but the mayor does not give me an option to take control and I still cant turn in the miguel quest...what gives?

I am wearing the special camo I found at the army base...and am playing on easy...any ideas?

The rebel base with Barerra is the same way...waltz in, shoot everyone and they dont fire back...never goes to combat....

Let me just ask these 2 things, if I may...playing on Easy but Im not sure that matters...

1. Evidently there is a game exploit whereby you can waltz into a town and just kill each occupying soldier, one by one, and they wont fight back? I did this as explained above, looted them, leveled up and didnt appear to suffer any ill game effects...

2. Are we sure that you can just go into any town and kill the occupying soldiers, talk to the mayor and control the city? When I killed all the soldiers as above, it didnt seem to give me any special options to sieze control of the town when I spoke w/ the mayor? Either that or i missed a soldier, hiding somewhere...

Thanks.

1 - is likely a bug, even if i shoot civilians the guards try to kill me

2 - there was probably a soldier somewhere, if you kill everybody the town will become orange on the map, if its like this there is always the option for me to talk to the mayor to seize the city

Okay, thanks. I will try again. I have since attacked various factions and they do seem to fight back now....
