Sticky Bug Thread!
Got a crash bug, a corrupted save, or something that needs fixing? Feel free to post about it here. This thread is checked often, but not quite as often as the Discord, which is another great place to go for support.

I've got a situation on a Fortress map where the trees have spawned in such a way that entry of an area is impossible. Since there's a champion in the closed off area, I can't clear the zone.

Below is a link to a screenshot of the map page showing the closed-off area (NE of my @).

This game has a LOT of bugs. Like, early-access level lot of bugs. Here's the ones I remember from playing for a few days:

* In the "Battle at ___" style outdoor maps (the low-level ones with a bunch of barricades), half the time you start on the wrong side of the map. Instead of being left of all the barricades, you start inbetween the boss and the last row of archers. I feel like this bug was in spurts rather than alternating, ie one play session it happened every time, another it never happened.

* In the "__ camp" or "__ tribe" style outdoor maps (the high level ones), two champions spawn at the end. Both of them display the victory message when you beat them. If you kill both in the same turn, the death routine of the second one will get stuck and he'll fail to die. Afterwards any time you attack him you get a message about a dead actor. If you leave the map it still vanishes due to being beaten. This also happened when a second champion spawned in a "battle at __" map due to World Champion, but there when I left the map I think it didn't vanish and he instantly died as soon as I reentered.

* If you target yourself with the meteor spell, with a staff so you shoot two meteors, the death routine freezes up. I had to return to the menu and reload the game, twice, and the second time I finished dying. Afterward, the gravedigger only made one statue but he increased the count of dead adventurers by 3. (Also, the spell didn't match the description since it implied there was a one turn delay to get out of the way)

* Many late-game enemies are missing descriptions. A few items are too (ie the tower key). The basic zombiemans in the cemetary, meanwhile, show their description even if you haven't researched them.

* In the tower, as soon as you touch a locked door and bring up the prompt asking if you want to open it, enemies can walk through that door. Even if you cancel out of the prompt.

* The explanations for defeat block and defeat parry in your stats page show the number you hae for defeat armor.

* Anavrin claims that it can't hit enemies, but it works just fine.

* Items that grant skills don't show those skills anywhere in the skill training menu (I assume they're suppoesed to show up in the blank "advanced study" section). You can only use them from the 'S' menu.

* After defeating one Tower, the progress count in the museum for Warlords is "Rank 1, 5/2".

* I entered a Hive of Savings during the final level (the spire of despair) and the graphics were all messed up for the counters.

* I was able to activate the Fervor stance while Defiant was still up without canceling it. Stances are supposed to cancel each other out.

* The Tempo buff works even if you aren't dual-wielding, even though no other weapon skills offer benefits if you aren't using them.

* The ruined fortress map routinely places trees in such a way to completely block access to some rooms.

* If you take the last item out of the wargear vault, it shows your inventory and asks you to put stuff in. I don't think it works though.

* As far as I can tell, putting a ring on the star anvil that's already gold (like the one that gives huge dodge and parry bonus in exchange for armor), it uses up the starshard and puts a +1 next to the item's name but has no effect on the item.

I've been hoping the developer starts emphasing bug fixes for a while now, I was surprised at the content update for Halloween. That content kept me entertained for 2~ days before i realized none of the bugs are fixed and so I stopped playing again.

I've been hoping the focus will shift once the update to the World Map is released.

Crash game! when I go into the dungeon and break the barrel
Tsal Jan 3 @ 9:21am
My game crashes during start up.
Right after "Preparing to launch Dungeonmans...", I get a windows error message "Dungeonmans has stopped working":

After my character died I received a message stating my save in slot one was corrupted and my academy was lost. I sent an email to the support email also listed in the message (support@dungeonmans.com) two days ago but have not received a response. Can you assist in helping rebuild the academy as the message suggested? I love the game and want to play again but can't until I know if you'll be assisting, since if you do I'd have to start over again with a new character at that point.
Sorry if these are repeats. Reading 80+ pages of bug reports is kind of a tall order:

* Stremf stolen from summoned allies like Decoymans or Gravemooks by a Champion Lich is added to your Dungeonman when the Lich is defeated (difficult to avoid exploit, but graveyard dungeons are so fun and rewarding!)

* Identifying a ring via the context menu (by left clicking) shuffles the order of your rings. The new order is not reflected until you close and reopen the rings tab in your inventory, so if you try to equip the ring you just identified, for example, you will equip an essentially random ring

* After equipping The Duchess's Icy Grasp once, all your bolts of foom will be ice type forever regardless of your staff's element, even if your remove them.

* Selecting a different skill with the mouse while targeting with Searing Ray will orphan the effect
My Slot 2 save file now crashes immediately on load attempts. The game was crashing constantly when nearby, or going through, fog of war areas. I couldn't explore more of the map because of the nonstop crashing in those unexplored areas. Stupid me, I teleported to an outdoor battle area right next to the fog of war and entered and beat it. Upon exit from the fight, the game crashed, and now it crashes immediately when attempting to load. Lvl 13-14 guy, decked out... I'm bummed.

I can confirm that this is still happening as of yesterday, so if it's fixed, it's not in a public build yet.
100% crash bug (maybe also known issue):

(1) Summon a large group of enemies by opening a golden chast in the Dread Spire.
(2) Move the large groups of enemies into a single tile using Big Bamf with a staff equipped.
(3) Kill the large enemies with an AOE attack, such as Foom from the Skies.
(4) Crash!

Here's a video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hFFEdlzuhI&feature=youtu.be

Note: I suspect that this happens with any large group of enemies in any location, and I can confirm that various AOE attacks also cause the issue (I've even done it with a staff attack!)
100% repro for paper doll render issue (an instance, there may be multiple):

(1) Open you inventory by pressing 'i'
(2) Open your skills pane with the mouse
(3) Select a skill that requires a target such as Big Bamf
(4) Your paper doll gets all screwy

I can also confirm this happened to me two days ago.
I'm immortal.

Everytime my dungeonmans takes lethal damage, the game crashes and my save reverts back to the latest save. This, while extremely useful for surviving purposes, prevents me from retiriring in any way.

I haven't tried setting up my own shop on another character, but when I do it on this character the game crashes and when opened the game again the shop has spawned on the map, allowing me to dupe items extremely easily.

Also, a crash occured when I had defeated a pandemonium floor and the portal had disappeared when i reloaded. I tried to escape using a carefully escape dungeon scroll and it just teleported me across the room (though I don't know if those actually scrolls work in the pandemonium so I'll just presume it's a bug) and said i was in the overworld. I then tried to use The Way Home but I apparently couldn't use it within a dungeon.

I've been diagnosed with a terminal illness and am soon off to hospice to die. Don't worry about fixing my save file anymore. I'm trying for a little levity in my life because what I just said is 100% true.

I bequeath the time it would have taken to fix my save to a needy gamer in an impovershed third world region with poor internet speed.
