Are there different endings?
I mean, a depressed guy with no friends and loving games could snap in many ways.

Killing a lot of people, for instance, eviscerating any persone he finds.

Killing himself, obviously.

Doing something stupid and getting in jail...

So, are there possible endings? can you do a massacre with your character?

There are no diffrent endings. Qauntic Dream, this is not.

If you think that would be an appropriate way for the character to end the game, you haven't really understood what the message of the game is. There's no motivation for him to go off killing. Massacres aren't just something that's automatically an option when you get mentally ill.

I'd much rather go out with a bang than with a splat.

Perhaps someone should take care of you first, then. People who blame others for their miserable lives and killing them out of this delusion are pathetic.

Ahhh, i just love the mathurity and the humanity you can find on the interweb. Such a colossal humus of hubris, sociopathy and total lack of depth, mixed with the inability to see the elegance of the bang/splat analogy.

Such is life. Inferior beings.

I'm not sure if you are being serious or joking. In any case there are people who act as I explained. Hell, at times even I was accused of bein a bomb about to explode and taking everyone down with me. But what good would have it done? A short remark in some history book? I can only see men and women crying for their relatives, and no one digging deeper coming up with a solution to the hatred that is slowly growing within some teenagers. Did any of the school shootings around the world change anything about the perspective of those who are in charge? Did anyone ever realize that these things are born from deep problems within our society? No. At best the symptoms are treated, like adjusting gun laws, installing more security in public buildings or forbidding/censoring violent games or other media. Because we all know everyone who owns a gun or plays violent games automatically goes on a killing spree.

If I were to go out I would do it as silently as possible. I would never kill others. I would never throw myself in front of a train either, or something like that, because I wouldn't want to traumatize train drivers or the likes. Those who really wish to die often do it quietly. There is no "bang". There are no big announcements on the web. There is no tweet about it, no Facebook posting. In the end this wouldn't be what I desired. So many people die day in and out without wanting it, without seeing it. What right would I have to go out with a bang? I'm nothing special. And I sure as hell don't want to trouble people more with my existence than I may already do. Wanting to go out with bang is probably a side-effect of how undesireful, almost forbidden, it is to speak about death plainly and openly in our society.

That is something respectful. I don't understand why you didn't just write this here in the first place. I respect this answer, truly, even if i found "debatable" the first one.

Let's try to rationalize. The modern world is very much like it was in the last couple of millennia or more: few people with power who understood, generally, that by giving "something to lose" to the population they can almost guarantee themselves to have no revolutions.

Give people a soccer match, or a football match. Give them videogames. Give them something to keep them entertained, and they will be afraid to lose that and never rebel...so that the only one who rebel are the truly desperate ones in countries where one can't even have the effing football match to disperse tension.

Me? I live in Italy. Yeah, Berlusconi, and all those things i truly do not wish to elaborate right now.

School shootings are an abomination.

But there *are* valid targets, on a naturalistic law, basic justice point of view.

There is a soccer player, here in italy, who earns something in the way of six million dollars. No, it's not a typo, soccer players here in italy earn that much, and often even more.

So, we have this guy who earns about six million dollars or five milion euros (don't ♥♥♥♥♥ me about conversion rates please XD) and says... "i can't live with that few money".

Well... i wouldn't cry for someone like that. And this is just an example, keeping politicians out of the topic.

anyway, i made this post in April, i truly don't want to keep this conversation going. Thank you for your time and for your answer, but i will now unsubscribe and let this die. It's even in topic.

But politicans are part of it. If you kill that soccer player what do you think would happen? It wouldn't bring justice. He will be replaced with another soccer player earning on a similar silly level. And you will find an entry in a history book as some evil rarity that had no deeper motivations and ambitions but that was only mislead by video games, TV, World of Warcraft and whatnot.

Look how Hitler is displayed as nothing humane. The idea that he may have had good, or at least "humane" sides in his personality too, and that the reasons why he became what he was could also be found within how his surrounding world looked and acted is unthinkable to many. Or Osama Bin Laden. I've heard speculation that killing him was the goal, not capturing him. Angela Merkel applauded the USA for this "achievement". How is killing someone an achievement? There are still terrorists around the world. What has changed?

You cannot change things profoundly just by taking those out who stand in the front line. Comparing some soccer player to Hitler or Bin Laden is kinda silly, but it still shares some awful aspect of our society to condemn things without every wanting to look deeper. Because looking deeper may mean to see that there are more things wrong in our world and society than most of us dare to admit. And that we are part of these flaws, that it's our fault for letting these things happen, for not doing something, for not teaching our children to pay more attention than we did, for not taking responsibility on a grand and long-term scale.
