Egosoft, CCP trashed their Eve Online Walk in station feature for a reason

CCP is bigger than you Egosoft, they have more cash and more dev ressources... They put years in developping their WIS feature, it was good looking visually, very immersive : 2 patchs later the whole thing became optionnal, the default post-docking view got reverted to the old menu.... You know all this since some of you have probably played Eve for ages...

They reverted to old state because the whole player base told them : I dont want a system that ask me 2 minutes when it was 2 seconds before.... Its a fraking spaceship game, not sims online, and we dont give a damn to go in a bar to dance nor we want to "walk" to some kind of shop when a 10 years old menu does the exact same thing instant !!

Why why didnt you use that experience to avoid spending time and ressource in such an irrelevant feature... at least give me the choice to use it or not !!

You ever played Freelancer? Walking on stations in here feels kinda like on it, only diference is that you actually walk in here.

It's only a piece of eye candy, nothing to be taken serious, just to give a little more of immersion.

As for CCP, CCP has been making huge mistakes over the years, walking on stations and dust are just 2 of their biggest ones, still, it's awesome eye candy that people did ask, and they tried to deliver, evan without ever having any experience in the matter.

well walking on stations in EVE is great. Graphics your character etc. But when it comes to usefullness nope its not.
Maaaayyybeee with few minigames on station that you could do to kill time when waiting for others to fit their ships...

For a single player game, a walk on station is a good investment. It's just poorly developed.
Give it some time, they'll patch it up.

OMG, the game is not 24h released and you complain already. Well, this people are everywhere. Why not watching TV like in the good old times in black and white? Damn colors, no one ask for it. It's a fraking TV and not color-magicland. This is the exact same argument ... Innovation? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ no ... ?!

And please don't tell everyone you're totally surprised about walking in stations for X - Rebirth. Either you could be or admit you hoped that it would be great and hopefully (!) something new and fun-promising. I don't think you are surprised, so it must be the last point ... and in this case, give them a chance to learn. And to optimize it. Just because CCP didn't listen long time for their community doesn't mean that their plan was bad. They never integrate the community which is not the case with the X-community. So ... patience...
