The trailer here poorly represents what ended up being one of the very best games in this genre I've ever played. The art is absolutely stunning, the voice acting is very well done, the puzzles are thoughtful and entertaining, the soundtrack is amazing, and the storyline is solid.
It's not actually "Hidden Object" - there were only a couple of "hidden parts" puzzles and zero HO puzzles. It's average in length (my full play-through took 5 hours, which is pretty standard), though I found the bonus chapter to be a bit shorter than is standard for this type of game. (But hey, it's a bonus chapter.) I also found the ending to be a bit abrupt.
This game is a fantastical story, not horror. Zero jump scares, which I appreciated very much. Good drama without feeling overdone, characters I could identify with, and omg the cuteness of the animals is out of control!
I have played dozens of this kind of game, and Nearwood is at the top of the class. If this genre is your thing, you will absolutely love this game. I highly, highly recommend it!
