In Steam click Library. Find X-Tension in the list. Right click X-Tension and select Properties. Click the Local Files tab. Click Browse Game Files to find the folder with the X-Tension files in it.
Right click the file X-TENSION.EXE and click Properties. Click the compatibility tab. Under Settings click the check box for Reduced Color Mode. Select from the pulldown menu below that 16-bit (65535) Color. Click Apply then OK to close the settings. Now you can start the game and it should work.
Any ideas ?
If that doesn't work I'd try to look for the latest video driver or your video card. Maybe your video driver is an older buggy one.
You can run the event viewer (mouse to lower left corner, right click, select Run, "eventvwr") and look in Windows Logs->Application for the crash report from where the game crashed. Maybe it would be helpful in figuring out why the game crashed.
