No saving and loading options?
So, I don't get it, what you expect?

"We currently do not have the possibility to save and load a game"
You really wanna relase this game?

I mean, it looks amazing, and I really like the surviving games, but seriously... I don't get it.

Quite a few games dont have the ability to save and load at the very beginning. Some older games never gained the ability to load and save and only used high scores, and some of them after the developers had a small release window they eventually added save and oad ability shortly after a release. The reason some companies do this is they need some sort of income from game sales in order to continue development. This is not uncommon for a small company, espicially with the surge of indie developers. Its only going to become more common with more independent developers making new video games. Its also very common in a number of flash and java games found all across the internet. It has been a common thing since video games first started.

I undestand your points, but we are in 2014.
But I don't understand why they expect to buy a game without saving option. They need money of course, but if someone read the description, maybe he or she won't buy the game.
Doesn't matter it's early access or not after they released the game.

Survival games can be much more intense without the ability to save, every choice matters. Just wait until they are able to add save and load functions if you think you can't live without it.

You are wrong It's not fun if you can't save your game because no mid-game or late-game without it. If the game is gonna crash, well my friend, you can start again.
It's gonna be very fun innit?

If you don't like a game, don't buy it. I buy a lot of games. i like a lot of games. I don't like all of my purchases, but I do like a lot of them. If I read something I don't like, I do not buy the game. If I feel something important is missing I do not buy the game. However I like what I see so far in this game. I will probably wait for a few gameplay videos to pop up before I decide to buy the game 100%, regardless of the fact I really want to buy the game just because it is looking sooo good. It does not matter what year it is. Not all games come out with save options in early access or early release games. Some games come out so buggy that when the game is patched and fixed that early saves are corrupted or unusable. Its happened to EA, Maxis, Rockstar, blizzard, its happened to many game companies that are now big. It does not matter if a game currently has no save/load option SO LONG AS IT HAS A GOOD DEVELOPMENT TEAM AND THE GAME IS FUN TO PLAY!!! Things can always be added later on.

Then I can assume that its gamebreaking and you will not buy the game. Anything else and your now trolling in the forum for a game you will not be buying.

The mid to late game doesn't exist yet, from what I can see from the store page, each scenario can be finished in a single session (1 hour or so). They will probably add savegame support shortly after release anyways, I don't see why you are so flustered.

I am not mad. I just wanna play with a surviving game
I am a potential buyer, so I have the rights to ask.

That's all.
I won't read this forum anymore, because you are blind guys.
So simple; save/load game ability means money.

Peace!

The question by the OP wasn't about how fun the game is or isn't without having save, it's about the basic technology.

A game without save features? Really? Can't muster the dev time to add a STANDARD? in 2014?

"yeah but permadeath makes it intense!" Yep, for certain people. That's why games with permadeath have it as an option.

"skyrim has permadeath!" Yep. and an effective file system too.

Truly, it's inexcusable -- in a game that wants to be a retail success -- not to have a file system.

I had seen the greenlight shadow of this game and it looked worthy. Came here to check price and discussion.

No file system? An hour of play? And you want people to buy it? Cmon man . . .

What is wrong with you guys? Are you new to early access? They aren't making a design choice to not include savegames, its still a feature that is in development.
Aron_dc Mar 23 @ 4:36pm
It's an honest early acces description. If you can't live without a save/load-feature just wait till it's implemented and join then!
ermdog2411 Mar 23 @ 7:46pm
It's early access. If you don't like any options it has or how it looks don't buy it. No one is forcing you to buy the game at it's current state. Just wait for it to be released or more polished before buying.

It's kind of the most basic feature right after being able to start the game and being able to move.

I realize all you white knight apologist fanbois want to keep parroting 'But it's Early Access!' no matter how incomplete a game is, but there are some very basic features that if you don't have them I just really don't see the point and I won't be considering.

A feature is not basic unless it is included in all games. Sadly, it is not included in all games. Most games maybe, but not all.

Yeah, good luck when people find out about the missing save feature. Refund en masse.
Refactored Games  [developer] Mar 26 @ 3:58am
I'll emphasize it on the store page game description, so people will know before buying.
This is a good topic to have a running discussion about, because if the feature is important to a lot of people, we'll push it up our list of priorities.
On the other hand, if a lot of people would rather have we focus on shorter "skirmish" style scenarios first, then we'll do that (this is our current plan).
