edelweiss has pandered to the mainstream?
if i hadnt spaced-out during the final phase of the final boss i would have 1 cc'ed this on my first playthrough
also i am definitely NOT that good at shmups and bullet hells
i can only 1cc the easy stuff like jamestown and sine mora; i still get wrecked by hellsinker, chaos field, etc. including... ether vapor...
so what happened here that this game became so easy?

i really think it is the melee attack being overpowered
it got the best attributes of the melee from sin and punishment 1&2 AND chaos field

praise jebus that i see 'unlocked hard mode' after finishing... i was really hoping to see that

also that really looks like the same daniel from ether vapor although i cant be certain since i skip all dialogues in both games

and i notice you dont get the 'cleared on easy' achievement when you clear on normal... hooray...

edelweiss still gets a big high-five for this game but it definitely left me wanting more; possibly because of the huge hype this game had since it was announced however long ago

IMHO this is a score attack game, not a bullet hell game, i.e. it's not about clearing the levels but maximising your score when you do so.

As someone who is garbage at bullet hells, I appreciated the fact tthat they designed it more as a score attack. I got to experience the whole game, but I know that there's a lot of room for improvement--it was satisfying learning how to better play the game as I went instead of endlessly repeating the same stage I can't beat over and over.

I feel like they probably should have had Hard mode available from the beginning for the more hardcore players, but was the experience really dimished that much by it being relatively easy the first time through?

well it has been a month but yes: i was expecting more tension and adrenaline

there are those no damage and hard 1cc achievments to shoot for, but i had several achievements bug out on me and not unlock so that kills my desire to go back to this game

maybe at some point i will go back to this, but for now i have more interest in revisiting ether vapor than this
