Resolution fix??

I wanted to play this in fullscreen and i seen someone put a link up with a hack from WSGF but i cant seem to save or open the file.I just got a new laptop with windows 8 and i cant seem to figure out how to save that hack.Does anyone using windows 8 know how?I'd be really REALLY grateful if someone could tell me how!!LOL damn windows 8...i cant figure it out!! >.<

Thanks my friend but it has something to do with windows 8.I'll save a file and then internet explorer will open it up in the background but i cant access it.Nothing actually pops up when i hit open.Ive read that internet explorer cant always open certain files but ive never found a fix for it.DAMN WINDOWS 8!!!

If you launch the game from it's folder it allows you to configure resolution and visual details. The only problem with that is that it's playing outside of steam and doesn't give you card drops etc. And if you change the configuration and then launch the game through steam proper your settings aren't saved.

I know there's a user patch for the resolution but I'd much rather have an official patch. I don't like the idea of installing third party modifications to any of my steam games.

Thanks for the info my friend but i know jack about computers lol so i wouldn't even know how to do that.I only recently started gaming online and i find everything really confusing and i agree it gets annoying having to go download patches and things from other sites.
