Comments on a playtrough

I played as Italy (yeah, i am italian) - conquered marseille, greece, part of yugoslavia, crete, cipro. Mussolini reborn^^ Then tanks started arriving from egypt, i let the Africa Korps die and eventually i had to withdraw. No big deal, all more experience for my next playtrough. But then things got weird: Moscow fell, and i thought soon germany would start sending troops back west, or buying more planes-ships that there is always a big need of them :P Nope. They kept advancing. No big deal i told myself, there must be some key city there. Maybe, they never got it. There is this russian town, right on the border of the map, where 10 (i have a screenshot, i counted), TEN lvl 5 - some with strenght over 60 - german tank units stopped to kill one single russian infantry unit. And they stayed there from the end of 1943 to the end of the game. They tried in the first turns to kill it, they got close, but nothing. At one point the russian unit raised to 5star exp and 18 strenght, while the tanks around it were on average 20 (note well - the other 3 spaces around the city were of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ allied troops): they recovered slowly, they tried another attack, russians got down to 14, everyone recovered. What the hell? Not even the normandy invasion could move them away from there: *I* had to push usa back, with my veteran mechanized troops and one veteran bomber. I still had fun, but come on....

On a side note, when i conquer a city shouldnt i get it for my nation? I declared war to switzerland, conquered berne all by myself.... and the city went to germany. Wth? I would understand if it was a key city, but switzerland? Sigh -.-

Oh, and yeah, doesnt the AI use amphibious attacks outside of the scripted one? Both malta, crete and cipro were undefended and yet i was never attacked. I also sort-of-expected the real life invasion of italy in '43, but nothing. And by that point in time i had already lost lybia.

On another side note, could it be possible to continue playing after june 45? I was in the middle of reconquering libya, i didnt want to stop.
