Is it possible to remove or repair ship and station debris?
I noticed that in Faded Dreams nearly everything in the sector appears to have been destroyed by war. There's ship and station debris all over the place. Can I destroy or repair these debris to rebuild this area?

No, the debris is just there for decoration. The only thing you can do with it is flighing into it.

There is a script out there that will allow you to repair station and ship debris in various sectors. Presidents End being one of them.

Note: If you start modding your game with scrips it will prevent you from obtaining Steam Achivements.

What is annoying is apparently the ship debris belong to the Boron(I believe they own the sector). I tried to destroy the ship debris to clear them out and found out I really made the natives mad.

No mods for me since I want to be able to unlock the achievements. Maybe in the next game they'll give us a way to recycle debris. It seems like something missing from the sandbox. I want to be able to build and tear down and rebuild again and not be stuck with junk in the way that I can't mold to my will.

I didn't care much for the achivements and there was such a large scripting library available for the game I just tried a few here and there and they did make the game more interesting from my point of view.

I do understand that the ability to expand and mod the game is a great plus and I may get around to that sometime, but I will play it first without mods. Its always easier from a morale standpoint to start with limited options and add more stuff later than it is to start with lots of goodies and try to revert back to the caveman days later.

Combining the use of the Plug In Manager with the Save Game Manager can allow you to experiment with script packages and mods without sacrificing your ability to earn acheivments. See the Egosoft forums for links.
