I want IBL's in my freshly bought Tiger (darnit!) and what I HATE about this game
Sigh.....

I am on good terms with the Yaki... and now the pirates.... money to burn, but the catch is, there is only one forge that produces this s**t.... and it does NOT produce anything, even though I have put ore, spaceweed etc etc into it.

In fact, the one thing I HATE about this game is it's wonky economics.

Factories are not producing stuff even in well travelled/supplied sectors.

Good luck finding 1GJ shields.

Even worse, knock yourself out looking for IBL.

Heck, even HEPT's are hard to find.

The economy is out of whack, with missiles being produced, and then 2GJ shields but no 1GJ shields, no HEPTs, etc.

Terrible.

So even though I have all this money, there is nothing to spend it on.

And here's a kicker - when buying that Tiger, the big guns and shields were missing from the customization screen in the dang shipyard... SIgh.

Also, to transport passengers, to make a real passenger ship, you either buy a TP ship with built in passenger module... or have to go to a damn pirate base to make yours a passenger ship. Ridiculous.

It takes a lot of time to produce a ship of that class, about 24 hours.

Well.. if you are have recognition by Split, you can buy Tiger, then you can certainly buy and build a Factory which produce the necessary weapon.. :) They are in short supply, because the demand is not that big.. do you see many Tigers flying around? Just be comfortable with the thought: at some point in the game you become so powerful, you will have something like your own Ship Yard.. :) If you want many bigger ships, producing shields and weapons is the only way.. just because the factories in the game small in numbers, and production time is too slow.

Because of the GOD AI system, everyone's game will be different. In theory, given time, everything should find balance but until that happens you're stuck with the AI randomly deleting stations that it deems to not be useful (it might be totally empty all the time because certain resources aren't being delivered to it or it might be totally full all the time because there are no stations nearby that'll accept what it's selling and traders won't buy it from them) and ordering TLs to build new stations when it deems that there is demand for the goods the station creates.
I know all too well just how annoying it can be, to the point where I now tend to buy NavSats as soon as I have the money when I start a new game because finding them when you get to the terran storyline mission that needs them is often an absolute nightmare as all the satellite fabs in Argon space have been deleted because so few of them are ever supplied with majaglit.

Well if IBLs are anything like other captial weapons, production time takes hours (probably 3+) so suggestion would be have a CLS trader camping the station to buy it as soon as one rolls off the production line, safe thing is, if the IBL forge is in Yaki space, there should be no one buying it at all and no random patrol to coming to blow the forge, so it will be there for you, just takes a really long time to make

When you are buying the ship, the equipment you can buy with it comes from the local equipment dock, so if the dock doesn't have anything, you won't be able to upgrade the ship on purchase, the shipyard only provide the barebone ship, everything else is from the equipment dock,

Ships are like planes, not all are designed to ferry passengers, you have, in game, TPs which are like average airliners purpose built for passenger flight, but other ships are either militiary grade fighers or frieghters not designed for passenger transport. Cargo life support system are like putting proper seats and ensuring air supply is adequte for passengers. Which btw, cargo life support system are available in some teladi stations, Strong arm HQ, couple terran stations as well.

The economy will always be a bit out of wack so the players have a opportunity to make money by filling in the holes, like near Light of Heart, straved of ores and carbonna but with an adequte number of astroids and energy, pluck that hole with two mines and couple ranch and bakery and the locate sectors becomes a rather neat, efficient economy with factories hardly ever running low on resource

Once you move on from M3s, it's probably ideal to start building factories to supply your fleets, for a modest 240mil ish[home.wolfsburg.de], have a base which producea fair deal of what you'll need in common wealth ships all you need is ship in some base ore and silicon and off it goes
