What is this?
now I've played the game for almost 30 hours and I'm pretty new to this, now don't get me wrong; I can see why people would love this game I completely get why this game is considered to be awesome.

Is there something I need to do to get in to this more? I don't understand why I'm not as attracted to this as others are?

Do I need to get all the other X Games to enjoy this one to it's full potential?

What are you goals for the game? What made you interested in it in the first place? There is a lot to do in the game and it can be daunting for new players because it is so sandboxy and nothing really is telling you what to do.

What made me attracted was exploration which is given to you but I don't feel rewarded for exploring much. It's more of a chore to play

In what way is it a chore? You can explore the galaxy and see the different systems and stations in each sector. You can also seach for abandoned specialty ships and missions to do for NPC's. I personally enjoy reading all the system information blurbs which usually give history of the sector and other neat facts.

Build an empire, amass a fleet, or just get yourself a small ship and explore and map out the universe. You can do most anything you want.

The game will feel like a chore, but it's a game that rewards you for hard work. Eventually you will grow from being one small ship to having your own fleet of... whatever the hell you want to be. Make a War Fleet and ravage space, or have a Merchant Fleet and control all business and own everything.

It's the potential of the progress you can make from being small time to being the big wig in town that attracts people.

What most people don't see when talking about chores - well, get to a point fast, where your fleet does the work for you. Automation is essential and a big part of economy.

Check starting guides for getting money at start. Do missions, find abandoned ships and sell them, kill pirates and loot them - information about that should be found easily.

For money: Get a merchant ship (TS) as soon as possible, get enough money for MK3 trading software, install it and set it to auto-trade. Early money problems gone. Use time compression and just wait for the money. Build up more auto-traders and/or stations and let TS ships do the money making stuff for you.

For fights: If you find fighting too hard - get a bigger ship and fit it right. Get a whole fleet to cover you. Set it on guard sectors, let it guard you - missions are easy if you outgun/outnumber enemies.
Build specialized fleets to cover special situations (fighter hunting, capital ship fighting and so on).

Game is about building up huge stuff, as mentioned above. It is quite easy to do so, but will take some time. Get stats on stations, ships and trade goods. If you don't like stats reading, that game may be not for you.

Game shines *really, really* bright, when you are able send out your main fleet to a heavy Xenon sector - like some M2, covered by several M7s and M6s, guarded by fully loaded M8/M7M missile bombers.....
Jump in the fast TM transporters or even M1 carriers with whole wings to fight that M4/5/6 fighter stuff.

Learn how to watch ships from external view, enjoy the big fight and watch your self made SciFi battle movie...

Well, that's how i play X games and how i make the most fun out of it and how they should be...

BTW: All above is what X Rebirth IS NOT, AND WILL NOT....

I heard X: Rebirth was a massive failure to the fan base and newcomers

What is different about X Rebirth?
clthomps Jan 15 @ 7:06pm
It is worse in about every way. Way to many to mention.

It has flashier graphics, and less of everything else when compared to X3. A lot less.

I am very new to the game and for one think that x3tc is great (dont know about rebirth) but im a major noob in it.I spent my first 24hrs of play just crashing into stuff with AI turned on.But my newest problem is a mision.I know what to do and know where to go but to do it i need to pass trough a damn FLEET of xenon ships and 2 stations i think that mision is called "split espionage and sabotage".I mean how do i beat whole fleet i cant even sneak trough in a m5!?

That happened to me once. I just aborted the mission. I generally avoid the espionage missions. In the beginning, I look for easy scan asteroids, return ship, protect station, and taxi mssions until I can afford a Phantom, then I look for hard passenger transport and collect wares missions too. You can make a lot of money on assassinate missions if you go the fighter route.

P.S. If you are crashing alot with SETI on, then your CPU isn't fast enough and you need to lower the SETI or graphics settings until it stops crashing so much. If your M5 goes over 500 m/s, then a slower ship won't crash so much either.
