My Documents/My Games/WoolfeTRHD/WoolfeGame/Logs
And maybe posting the last part of the logs so that the error a little bit narrowed down because right now I don't think anyone can help when it can be caused by literally anything.
Re-installed this morning, same crash log data and hanging on the main menu. However task manager doesn't say it's not responding, it just sorta sits there, but in-game, it's definitely frozen.
Also, I see it keeps trying to access these save files in the log (Error: Failed to read file '..\..\Saves\84300066\Profile_0.wsg'), but there aren't any that I can find in the game directory or documents folder, nor should there be at this point. I've never got past the menu.
Well if any of you can make any sense of this it'd be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
My ideas:
-Start the 32-bit variant from here
\Steam\SteamApps\common\WoolfeTRHD\Binaries\Win32
Highly doubt it will change anything but just to be on the save side it wouldn't hurt to try.
-Update graphic drivers if you havent done it yet
-Try to supersample the game hoping that the new avaible resolutions will fix the game.
OK... So it seems the problem may have been Riva Tuner with the 64 bit version. Starting the 32 bit version worked with Riva Tuner enabled, but we disabled it and tried the 64 bit version to test a theory and all of a sudden it's working where it hadn't before.
I know some older games had issues with Riva Tuner but it's been so long since we've experienced any conflicts, it just wasn't on our radar before.
So at this point, the main menu is not hanging up, however I haven't gone into the game proper and will be happy to report back how that goes sometime later.
So in conclusion, if anyone is having the same issue I'd try disabling any montitoring application like FRAPS or Riva because it's possibly causing a conflict with the 64 bit version of the game. However it (Riva Tuner) does seem to be ok with the 32 bit version.
Additionally, Windows troubleshooter recommended running this in Windows 8 compatibility mode, not 8.1. It might be worth it to try that as well. Certainly can't hurt.
