Gamebreaking Bug in Chapter 12

I'm playing the "Crimes of War" UK Version and the assistants you are supposed to kill are unkillable.

At least it's 3/4 into the game.

Are you talking about the flamethrower and MG42 bosses in the small room? This boss is certainly tough but beatable. Shoot the flamethrower guy in the back / fuel tank. The MG boss just needs to be shot repeatedly. Go to the far left of the room with the ammo chest and the MG42. You can bug the bosses on rubble in the other room. Make quick short burst fires with your guns.
