Noob question about jumpdrives
I have just purchased a jump drive for one of my TS ships a mercury but when I check on it it is just going through the warp gates as normal? is there anything that needs to be done to get it to use the jump drive as the waiting for it to get to one point to another takes forever.

Thanks for any advice on this

You activate the jump drive and then choose a sector, it "costs" energy cells to use this depending on how many sectors away you are jumping, and it varies on how much depending on the ship.

another noob question which is the best game start to go for as I did it with the quickstart and have been more interested in building up than the actual mission I've only done the first one and the race is starting to annoy me as I cant seem to win that

in the ships comand you will see a choice where you can pick how many jumps you can jump befor your ship will jump, set it to 0, and it will then jump any time, this is there for your traders so they dont wast e cells, you can set it up to 50 i think, that will make the ship drive to location if it is under the jump distance, lets say you set it to 10 sectors then when the ship travels it will only use jump drive if it is over 10 gates ie sectors, so set it to 0, that way it will jump and it will only use the gates if it has no e cells ( at standard it is set to 1 sector ) ie it will use the jump drive if it is more than 1 sector so set it to 0 then it will use the jump drive to jump 1 sector ie next door this is good for your ship but it wasts e cells if done to a trader and it will get more e cells by it self
