Do Keepas have invisibility and god mode now?
Is this a thing? I understand if they can go invisible, but the indicator on the map shows it literally right on top of my location and it, clearly, isn't. No matter how many times I swing my sword, I can't hit it. I've dug beneath the ground a number of times and it is not below my current location in a cave or anything. So. . . this is silly. This is not the first time that this has happened in my world, either.

is it in the tree above you possibly?

The indicator only shows that you are within a certain range of it. The size of the arcstone in the ping indicates how close you are to it butit can be above or below you as well, such as caves underground. You will always see the ping in the center of your compass. There is no directional indicator whatsoever. All you can do to try and narrow it down is to move around and see if it stops pinging or if the arcstone becomes bigger or smaller.

You only get an X and Y location. The Z location isn't shown. Almost everytime, they are underground.

yep, and even though they are two blocks tall, those guys can fit in a one block hole.

I've found keepas hiding in the ground many times, where I had filled in an area and left one or two blocks empty, with dirt filled in above it.

When bulldozing an area, always try to fill in holes all the way! Or you end up hearing a keepa but NEVER seeing it

That's true. And by "underground" understand "corruption level underground" while you are on the surface.

I finally found the bugger. He was swimming in a ravine in a mineral water lake.

anyone got advice for better traps to block them than digging ugly holes?
Drax Jan 25, 2017 @ 12:14pm
Lumite sword and running. Timing your jumps is important too. No need to spend time trying to trap them or digging holes.

It should only take 10 or less seconds to kill one, unless you get tripped up on the environment.

Sometimes, when I don't feel like chasing Keepas, I just use stun bombs on them.

Throw a glob of goo at them, it will all but stun them, and then you can whack them to bits.

With the new tools at your disposal, you can create some cages/traps for those mobs. Although you would have to lure it into the trap somehow.

Yes I have noticed that they keep improving the game. I am kind of sad that I can't just sit in a pool of water and be immune from mobs attacking me anymore, though
