Mac Version?
Just bought this very cheap, already had the Collector's Edition on Xbox, but hey for a few Euries I didn't mind playing through again. I've read this game is available for Mac, anyone can confirm this? Any idea if this will be enabled as Steamplay any time soon?
Got Mac Pro and have Windows on separate drive, but I only use it when I really have to. I prefer playing on my Mac OS, Windows is just worthless.

There's a mac port yeah, but it's a port and it's been developped by another devteam, Feral Interactive if I'm not mistaken. In any case, the guys who did develop the port shouldn't get money from the PC version sells as they've got nothing to do with it, right? So I don't think selling both versions for just one buy is gonna be doable. The money has to be distributed differently depending on the version.

Maybe the Director's Cut edition will be different though, who knows. A WiiU version has been developped and the graphics have been boosted for the PC version too, maybe we'll have a Mac port from the get go as well, done by the DirCut's Ed team themselves.

You've got a point, maybe they will sublicense it or something like that. Anyway, here's hopin'.

I don't see Feral listed in the dev. dropdown but I see Steam is selling X-COM http://store.steampowered.com/app/200510/ for both PC and Mac and it's my understanding that the Mac version was also developed by Feral. I'd be curious on knowing a little bit more about what's going on with that deal; and I'd be definitely interested in playing my Deus Ex Steam copy from my Mac.

I have no idea how these licenses work on corporate scale, but I guess Feral would still take some profit on it. Mac is gaining popularity, so I would just like to support developers like Feral as much as possible. I still use windows frequently, but it just isn't my preferred platform, I'd even chose a console over it.

Hope, mr. Biohazard, it's Windows that is a dying platform and that's because of Metro and horrible interface solutions. Linux is gaining popularity thanks to Valve and Macs are gaining popularity because of mobile Apple products.

So it's really sad that Mac version isn't available in Steam. Maybe they will fix that in the near future?

FYI:
♥♥♥♥ this. Now they are also selling the "Director's cut" which is OSX compatible. Well, off to https://www.humblebundle.com/store where you they have it for $5 with Steam keys included.

Maybe a little late, but the Mac version of Deus Ex: Director's Cut is available. All who already have acces to the Director's Cut can just download it directly on OSX right now.

Indeed Linux and other Unix systems like Mac OS will become more popular when SteamOS and Steamboxes come out. If Steam makes SteamOS any good, more developers will be encouraged towards Unix system development.
Because this is exactly what Valve wants; push Microsoft aside for gaming on PC.
Obviously we will get multi-platform titles for quite some years, but what if SteamOS becomes the new standard? Developers will eventually will be enticed to drop Windows completely or at the very least Windows gaming will become marginal.
