Slow and boring in the beginning, is it going to continue?
I feel like this game is more like work than play, running back and forth with slow to no progress because it seems that i am required to do all the sidemissions to make it through the main missions.
I've come as far that i have done a few missions in china but running back and forth listening to akward dialoge is kinda boring. is it going to pick up from here? otherwise i dont see the reason to continue playing.. Dont get me wrong, i like the setting and the theme of the game, its just that it seems that they have overfilled the story with a bunch of stuff that i feel is rather uninteresting.. also, ammo takes so much room in your inventory you have to drop weapons to get ammo etc, it just doesnt seem very well thought through..

I don't think this is the game for you.

Deus ex is part RPG, part Adventure, part Stealth Game and part Action Shooter.

What you want is a action game.
I think a pure FPS like Hard Reset is more your kind of game.

I'll have to agree with Tomato Juice, It sounds like Deus Ex just may not be the game for you. Although the inventory issues are easily remedied by a mod, I posted about it awhile back.

I bought it too and found it boring... I think it's an excellent game, but not my type... I'll stick to action FPS =)

I think the inventory size is about perfect. It would be boring if you could just pick up every weapon and all the ammo going. I think it makes it interesting that you have to find a balance between number/type of weapons and ammo. Not forgetting the health and energy bars.

Personally, I'm coming to the end of my second playthrough and both times have not really gone for any of the 'big' weapons like rocket launcher and heavy machne gun. There's also other guns I've not used, like the PEPS gun - just didn't like how it worked !!

My main gun througout has been the combat rifle so tried to collect loads of ammo for that. Also kept the pistol as I use that, with silencer attached, to silent snipe (as I didn't have the silent-sniper DLC, though just bought it for 29p !!). At one point I had 200 spare pistol ammo, but now only 50 as I wanted the space for other things. I've also stocked up on loads of boost bars this time. Current weapons I have are: combat-rifle, pistol, sniper (for when the pistol just won't do), machine-pistol and laser rifle. I've also got 15 Typhoon waiting to be used.

Yea by now you have seen pretty much what the game has to offer, so if you're not digging it yet that probably wont change.

What I would add is that once back in Detroit the storyline does move along at quite a pace. For one thing, there are not as many side-missions to distract you. The China missions are a bit of a pain as you have to travel from one district to another. But I would say play through til you are back in Detriot and then see if it grabs you then.
i think the first ''tutorial'' mission was boring... well they always are but the 2nd mission was fun to play, maybe suc i like sneaking :D

yeah this game is more about thinking and finesse rather than run and gun

I though it was amazing from the beginning to about 3/4 way in, then it got kinda dull to the ending. Not going to spoil the ending, but why were none of the characters provided closure? You go around doing things at the end but everyone is forgotten.
