Why is Deus Ex: Human Revolution in Mac App Store but not on Steam?

I paid for this game, which is available for Mac OS X plataform. Why can't I download it from Steam?

I don't think so. I mean, there is a version of this game for Mac, but it isn't available on Steam.

Its because Square Enix decided to release the Mac OS X version with out Steam. Not Valve or Steams fault. Will you see an OS X version on Steam? No. Sorry, try and get a refund but you should have seen the Windows symbol when buying it. There was no Mac Symbol on Steam saying it was available.

wel first of all your problem is that you have a Mac, you wont be able to play it unless you have the mac pro or one with a dedicated graphics card (juss' sayin') no offense to mac users and their overpriced aluminum.

None taken, it works just fine on my 4 year old GT120 based iMac. You want to play it on Steam rather than buy it again for Mac? Last I checked a Windows 8 license cost less than Deus Ex on Mac. It's all good. *Sent from my overpriced alluminium that's still got 50% of it's value if sold 2nd hand, how's that working out for you plastic beige brigade?* ;)

The reason is because another developer released the game for EIDOS on the MAC and they will not make any money if the steam version is downloadable, basically.

And on a side note the game runs perfectly on my 3 year old iMac via Windows 7.

I was wondering if this would work in Boot Camp. I am guessing by your post that it shouldn't be a problem. I haven't had any problems running any games in Boot Camp so far, hopefully this works too. Thanks.
