Does Deus Ex: HR DC have a framerate problem?
I have a pretty good laptop, I can run Battlefield 4 on High. It's weird though, my fps is so low on Deus Ex HR DC in that first scene in the lab. I haven't braved it because it's so bad that I can't even discern people's mouth moving when they speak. I want to play the DC, since it added new stuff and I already beat the Vanilla version, but with the FPS issue I really don't see myself doing that. Are there any solutions?

Not that I know of. I'm in the same boat as you. I bought the DC version, only to find that performance was horrendous. I had to go back to the vanilla version. The registry tweaks menitioned on here only seem to work properly in the vanilla version. When I applied them to the DC, there was no improvement.

Run in DX9 only?

modern cards seem to run dx9 slower than dx11. at least mine does lol. Problem is the DC version runs like the vanilla version did before all the patches (without registry tweaks, it still stutters like hell) what possessed them to use an unpatched engine as their base I don't know (oh, wait...yes I do, cash-in)
