Jaron.
You see, friends, I hate boss fights. I hate them more than spiders, the US Congress and the Westboro Baptist Church combined. I play Deus Ex the pacifistic way (which is, to say, the right way). If I had it my way, Jensen wouldn't carry a single gun (aside from the Tranq Rifle). So you might imagine just how painful boss fights are to me.

The first two weren't too much of a struggle, but now I've met the lovely Jaron Namir. Oh my God. I want to rip my hair out and scream expletives at the top of my lungs. As soon as I meet him face to face, he fires a shot or two at me and I die before I can even think of retaliating. If I take cover, he throws grenades at me and turns me into a messy pile of giblets. And, of course, using takedowns (my deadliest weapon) isn't an option for obvious reasons.

The best part, of course, is my decision to have my biochip replaced with the faulty one courtesy of Tai Young. So now I can't see jack ♥♥♥♥.

If you don't think I'm pathetic enough as it is, I'm playing on the easiest difficulty. Yes, you have my permission to laugh.

Jokes aside, I need help. My loadout consists of a Minigun, a Laser Rifle, a Shotgun, and an EMP Grenade. I've tried shooting at him from cover (refer to the above portion about the grenades and the giblets), charging at him immediately as the battle begins, screaming as I unload 200 rounds of pain into his face, and chasing him around the maze hoping to sneak in a takedown as he throws a grenade.

And now I'm here. On this forum. Begging for support. I've tried other guides, but none of them work considering that the players in said guides either didn't use the biochip or were augmented to be able to survive a nuclear holocaust, neither of which I can say apply to me.

Many thanks, gentlemen.

If you can get him to jump over a wall, there's a glitch where you can do the takedown on him as he's jumping.

Failing that, since you're going stealth, I assume you have the turret capture and heavy lifting augs? You can grab the turret from the Omega Ranch courtyard and carry it into the elevator with you. Set it down inside the elevator before walking out into the cut scene. Then, during the boss fight, you can lure Namir in front of the turret to provide some added damage.

I'm pretty sure there's a laser rifle hanging out in the room somwhere. If you can pick that up, you can get off some pretty good shots at him from cover. I'd try to find that. Toss your EMP at him to give yourself a minute, grab laser rifle, and unload.

Hopefully some of those things will help you. I'm not much good at giving advice for boss fights - I always just grab the Typhoon aug and blast the bosses to oblivion so I can play the rest of the game stealth :) It's three Praxis points, but totally worth it to avoid dragging around heavy lethal equipment.

I use magnum with explosive bullets. A round of those were enough for any of the later bosses...

Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up beating him (and the game) yesterday after I had time to cool off. I was a bit... outraged... after I fought him the first time. When I started fresh I was able to think more clearly and with less rage and managed to beat him fairly easily with short, focused ambush attacks.

I brought a turret up with me and threw down a concussion mine across from it. He came and got stunned enough for the turret to finish him off.

I'm sorry to hear that you upgraded your chip. The fastest way to kill him is with a fully upgraded shotgun and frag mines.

When the cutscene ends, you are facing him. Toss a frag mine at him as he toes the plasma rifle up off the floor, then step forward and take cover at the end of the cabinet he's standing to the right of. Shoot him a couple times.

He vaults over, toss another frag mine where he was, then lean left and shoot him once or twice. He vaults back over onto your frag mine, shoot him three more times and you're done. Correctly executed, the entire fight takes about ten seconds.

Understand that even pacifists rip the lungs out of the bad people who burned up their life's true love. I typically don't kill anyone but the bosses, and I don't find any contradiction at all.
