How to beat the first boss???
So I'm casually playing through, building up my social augs, I like story. I sneak through a couple quests, but mostly just kill everyone with my pistol. I'm happy. Life is good. Then I get to the first boss. I've fought him probably 20 times and keep dying. If I hear "Chew on this, boyscout!" one more time, I'm uninstalling this game and never looking back.

use the concrete pillars for cover and let him get close

Try throwing the fire extinguishers and the explosive barrels at him. The extinguishers stun him, not sure about the barrels but they do a lot of damage. If you want to try it, you can do this then rush to get ammo / weapons. One of the rooms has mines and grenades.

Spam grenades at him from behind a pillar until he dies. At least, that's how I always did it.
If if you ever run out of grenades, just use bullets to finish him off.

^ Exactly. I used a few frag grenades and a few magazines worth of headshots with my assault rifle (I know, it isn't actually called that) to take him down fairly quickly.

Grenades are the way to go for him. Use the pillars for protection. Good luck!

Grenades are good, and sometimes I use the rocket launcher. You can find it in the room to the left as soon as you get off the long elevator that goes down to the FEMA camp. It's unguarded too, I think.

Just did this scene this morning for the 3rd time. A few EMP grenades to disable him for 5 seconds and meanwhile shotgun point blank to the face worked great! Fastest "kill" ever! :-D

Grenades and anything possible you can just chuck at him. If you get the typhoon aug you can pretty much kill any boss easy.

They have changed things a little with the newer version after people said the bosses were too easy.

I don't even think there should be bosses. Some games I've never finished because of no way to lower difficulty or to cheat past the scene if I have trouble. Games are supposed to be fun, not 20 mins of intense difficulty. I give them about a half hour of trying and after that I'm done with the game forever.

Stay behind a crate in one of the rooms an wait for him, he will not see you!

So I finally loaded an earlier save and stockpiled Rockets. This strategy was very effective.

I killed him with rockets too, you can find a launcher in Derelict Row.

Yeah but this is what frustrated me. The game is supposed to be played how you want. You can choose stealth or brute force. I chose stealth, stuck with silenced pistols and small arms. This screwed me. You can't sneak past a "boss", or subdue him.
