I'm not enjoying this game for some reason?
Ok so I'm not very far into it at all, I'm on the 4th mission but for some reason I'm not likiing it very much. I played tons of other games and enjoyed them all, they range from Dead Space, Borderlands, Bioshock, Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3, and even Batman games which has lots of stealth in it. But I can't seem to dig this game for some reason, I find it kinda slow paced. The graphics are great, and the story is somewhat interesting. THe dialouge/voice acting is kinda bad though and very dull. Probably my main complaint though is the movement and aiming. I just don;'t like how it transit from 1st person to 3rd person during cover, i find it kinda annoying and doesn't feel fluid. I dunno, how far should I go to see if I like it? Should I finsih the first hub district then make a discision?

The start is a bit slow. I'd say complete the Highland Park FEMA camp section (after completing the Detroit hub) and see what you think.

Be aware that Highland Park culminates in the first boss fight and the boss fights suck.

I don't use the cover movement much except to peek round corners occasionally - I never use it to move aroundd corners or between cover.

There are usually several paths to complete a quest so if you didn't like how one played out you might prefer one of the alternative methods of completing it. For example to get to the police station morgue you can talk to Haas at the desk or there are at least 2 alternative entrances to the police station.

Well it's different from all the games you said, this is an rpg, like Fallout or Elder Scrolls, usually aren't very fast paced dues the longer play time of an usual fps. It revolve much more in dialogues and story telling than shooting or action per se, it isn't by any means an fps or tps.
Try to go on, the story slowly unfold but maybe you just don't like rpgs.

For a neurotic OCD every-encounter-must-proceed-perfectly-or-I-reload-save perfectionist like myself, this game seems specifically tailored to my dysfunction.

You're welcome mate :D I know that feeling.

The later settings/missions are much more fun to me like the TYM building. The closest comparison to this game is Mass Effect 2 with the blending of action and RPG. Be sure to just spend time exploring. Do all the burglarizing and hacking you can. Exploring can really pay-off bigtime. I love going thru the air-ducts and outsmarting them.

I find I've gotta be in the right mood for it. Like the original, it's a bit of an acquired taste. And it took a while, but eventually it grew on me. But I still sometimes get bored. So I just play something else for awhile. I've been working my way through this game for 3 months... and still enjoying it when the time is right.

I play the same way xD

I installed this game once, played it for an hour, uninstalled. I came back a bit later and found myself really enjoying the game. I am about 2/3 of the way through the game and really enjoying it, I just burnt out after sinking like 15 hours into it in no time, but I'll come back to it soon.
