I've been tinkering around and think I can get the games to play - at least they all launch.

I haven't found a way to make the main program work from the Steam launch button, but most of the arcade games can be launched straight from the installation directory ( usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Atari 80 Classic Games unless you have installed the Steam library elsewhere).

The two games that wouldn't launch directly for me (Centipede and Space Duel) will run in my Windows 10 system with Windows 98/ME compatibility mode (and maybe other compatibility modes - this was the first one I tried).

The 2600.exe file won't launch directly because it wants the name of the 2600 game you want to play. I created a shortcut to 2600.exe and then edited the target to give it the name of the game e.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Atari 80 Classic Games\2600.exe" casino
to run the "casino" game.

The game name it requires is the one corresponding to the ROM image located for me at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Atari 80 Classic Games\Resources\Atari 2600\ROMs

so for instance to play the baseball game you need to use Rs_baseb as the name. You would want to make fresh shortcuts for each 2600 game you wanted to play, but easily done by copying the shortcut for one and substituting the game name in "properties".

So in the end everything can be made to work except the program that launches the games for you.

Did they ever update this? I can start the game no problem from the steam shortcut, no tweaking or anything right after installing. Starts with a crazy loud sound and the Atari logo, then goes into the constellation menu. I'll try centipede and space duel, see if those work.

Yep, they work. However, I can't get the program to close other than the task manager.
