Gigantic Army
Linux support thread.
Hey, I developed the Linux port of GIGANTIC ARMY. Hopefully there's no issues, but you never know.

I'll be keeping tabs on this thread, so if any issues show up please post in here! Thanks!

Cool! Is this game done with Mono, like Eryi's Action (which I believe you also ported)?
Nope. Eryi's Action was a C# game with DxLib bindings, Gigantic Army is C++ and built with the Japanese free/open source game development library DxLib. Both are ported with DxPortLib, a library I made from scratch; no DxLib code is used! You can find it on github here: https://github.com/mauvecow/DxPortLib
That was confusing to read at first, but I gotcha now. Thanks for the info! I shall purchase it shortlyish.
Cool, thanks for all of that info!
Yeah sorry, brain's in coding mode so English may as well be a foreign language right now, haha. That actually is pretty confusing to read, looking at it...
Having trouble getting the keyboard to select Start, Config or any other menu option. I can navigate up and down, but none of the keyboard buttons are working for selections? Am I missing something obvious? :)
arrow keys and the ZXCV keys should work by default. Worked fine for me.
Arrow keys worked fine, however Enter and/or Space aren't working for selections. Should I be using ZXCV keys to select Config, Start, etc?
That did it -- I feel foolish! lol Thanks, looks like it's fine here now. :)
Great surprise to see a Linux port, I bought the game today because of this, I would have waited for a sale or discount otherwise!
Also bought today due to the Linux port...I like to switch over machines and game in that, as I do my dev/learning type work there. Good experience so far!
Yup, the Linux port is just fine. Great game too!
I bought right away when I saw the Linux port!
Unfortunately, my controller doesn't seem to work at all. Is this a know issue on Linux?
Nope, first I've heard of it, though I've tested with my own. It only listens to the first connected controller, so if you have more than one connected you should swap them around. (In the future I should consider revamping the library to just go by whichever presses buttons first, but hey.)
Is there any way to just inherit the joystick config from Steam's Big Picture Mode, as other SDL2 games do? This would be great because it would ensure anything works.
