Release notes: RIVE v1.15
We pushed out another RIVE update today! Here's an overview of the releases so far:

01.15, March 1, 2017
  • You can now play RIVE in Russian, Turkish, Korean, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese
  • The 'We Come In Peace' achievement is possible again (sorry)
  • We tweaked the difficulty level in Mission 1 and 2
  • The checkpoints in Challenge 14 were removed
  • The high score bug that occurred on the Single-Credit mission end screen was squashed
  • We fixed the sometimes incorrectly displayed Speedrun lap times, and various other small bugs

01.12, December 19, 2016
  • Mission 1 was extended, adding a mini boss at the end (Speedrun Leaderboards for this mission were reset again)
  • Added translations for Challenges and pro tips
  • Japanese translation, limited before, is now full-blown
  • Small bug fixes

01.11 (build 26203.9922 save: 33), November 30, 2016
  • CHG: Challenge 7 was way too difficult, so we toned it down
  • CHG: Challenge 12 was the opposite, so we made it harder
  • ADD: 19 fine 'pro tips' now appear randomly on the game over screen
  • FIX: Issue with the We Come In Peace achievement
  • CHG: Tweaked Dutch achievement translations (our writer knows his priorities)

01.10, November 22, 2016
  • CHG: Lots of difficulty tweaks in earlier missions, including increased field of view in some difficult areas
  • CHG: Mission 1 extended
  • ADD: Replaced the in-game Soft Mode with a Normal difficulty level, which is directly selectable from the main menu. (The teddy bear icon has left the building. Instead, you now get a star when you play on Hard. Because you're a star to us, geddit?)
  • ADD: Daily Challenges (descriptions only in English for now), including new Shield pick-up, low-gravity condition and auto-rotating fire
  • ADD: 3 endless Battle Arenas
  • FIX: Secret pick-ups can be picked up again (sorry about that)
  • DEL: Norris achievement (we replaced it with three Challenges achievements)
  • CHG: Lots of small fixes

01.03, September 30, 2016
New mode
Skywhale Survivor is the first challenge in the new Special Missions mode we've added. Battle an infinite torrent of Super Skywhales while avoiding magma waves... until your inevitable demise! Can you top the Leaderboards? (Hit Follow in the Community Hub to get access.)

New achievement
Channel your inner Chuck Norris and survive for three minutes in the new Special Mission.

RIVE can now be played in Japanese as well! We can't read it, but it looks really cool!

New beard
Cryo mode had unexpected results for space truckers with facial hair. We upgraded the freezer for all you wannabe Han Solo's out there.

Fixes and tweaks
We're constantly tweaking the game based on your feedback and the in-game statistics (if you let us, of course). Thanks everyone!

01.02 (build 25769.9900), September 24, 2016
  • ADD: Choose from two more controller styles, with the left bumper and trigger switched for less analoggy jumping.
  • ADD: We put in an extra few game over messages, because why the hell not?
  • CHG: You can now switch game modes from within the Leaderboards screen.
  • CHG: The freshly tweaked Mission 9 rising lava level demands a tad less perseverance.
  • CHG: Soft Mode is offered earlier… and the game asks you again, except if you tell it not to.
  • FIX: We think we've squashed the bug that sometimes made the game crash between level
  • switches!
  • FIX: Sometimes the music would go missing after restarting the mission. Making us sad because we like the music.
  • FIX: In Mission 10, avoiding and shooting DLL (like a real speedrunner would) caused you to get stuck.
  • FIX: Various bad checkpoints were steered towards a better life.

01.01 (build 25683.9898), September 16, 2016
  • ADD: More health is added each time you die at same checkpoint (max 10 points).
  • FIX: Checkpoint save delay now default 3 seconds (was 2 seconds) to combat unfair checkpoints.
  • FIX: Mission 11 pit of death incorrect checkpoint.
  • FIX: Mission 8 potential pit of death incorrect checkpoint.
  • FIX: Mission 5 sleeping whales fight missing checkpoint at very end of fight.
  • FIX: Mission 5 bathtub fight you could get stuck potentially. Not anymore.
  • FIX: Saving keybindings. (tnx CrunchyBiscuit)
  • ADD: Rank 1 in leaderboards now also displays total number of entries.
  • FIX: Borked leaderboards submission/fetch on Linux (and possibly Windows/Mac as well). (tnx [GOL] LiamD)
  • FIX: (Single Credit) When restarting campaign from ingame menu, while player is still alive, the progress wasn't properly reset. (tnx +/- Will)
  • FIX: Don't remove conversation when conversation is in paused state (e.g., in menu). (tnx +/- Will)
  • FIX: Potential crash bug in OSX HTTP layer.

I'm not sure if this is the place to post this, but I'm running into having the game crash immediately after falling into the open hole on the first level that is opened by the first terminal hack. I have rebooted everything, including my PC and tried multiple times. It always goes to a black screen and freezes, or crashes immediately. I'm running Windows 10 64bit, AMD 600fx, NVIDIA 960g1 2gb. I'm hoping maybe there is a fix out there somewhere. The small amount I've played makes me really want to go further. Thank you in advance for any answers.

There seem to be some issues with nvidia drivers. Did you try updating them?

I am currently running the latest stable NVIDIA drivers.

Edit: I have resolved the problem by playing in windowed mode until after that loading section. After that the game gives me no issues. Anyone having similar issues should try this.
