Where's The Chest?

The walkthrough says when I dig up the turtle eggs, I'm supposed to find a chest with a broken telescope and some coins in it. I didn't find any chest, only turtle eggs. What's going on here?

There are two holes with eggs. The one with the chest is by your feet.

Well I'll be a stuck duck in a load of muck, restarted the game several times as did a few things wrong each time and low and behold, went back to beach to get the driftwood and just out of curiosity had another look and hole was filled in and when I clicked it, eureka, 2 more eggs and the efin chest.

It's not the turtle you see, it's a different turtle track-line that leads to the digging spot with the chest.
