This game is mostly fine but I can't recommend it because the start is a slog and enemy turns take too long.

I would really like to get more into this but I can only hide away in ambush stance and overwatch and go fold laundry during my enemies turn so many times before my eyes glaze over. I'm sure things get more interesting as your Warband develops as the tutorials had me casting magic, buffs, and changing weapons on the fly but when you start you can't do much besides get the jump on an enemy, bunch up to support each other, and watch 50% of your basic attacks miss as your characters slowly get bludgeoned to death or injury which you have to pay for in permanant debuffs.

I dig the aesthetic and the setting is interesting diving into a grimdark post-calamity over-expanded fantasy city full of magic radioactive stones that various factions are fighting over. The game genuinely has strong art direction, sound design, and voice acting but I don't think I'll ever have the patience to see it all.

Small scale skirmish action. Looks good and lot of content.

The combat system is poor. Very few options and the animations are ponderous. There's a lot of dead time waiting for the AI to move. There's only one real tactic, throw more troops into combat than the enemy can, so the game focuses on movement and scouting. Ranged combat rarely works, Magic varies from causing damage to yourself to significant game effects.

Movement is difficult. The map is three dimensional but most combat is Melee making most terrain pointless. It is a nightmare trying to move where you want much harder than it needs to be.

The last straw for me is the housekeeping. There are missions to collect and export Warp Stone which really aren't interesting. There's a complex upgrade and training scheme that rivals RPGs and its very hard to get interested in.

Is a good game but its slow, overly intricate and very repetitive.

Game goes on sale often and can be very cheap. For the price it can be value, I'm just a bit frustrated with the games complexity.

Great Game. Complex and slow. No players online. Need a chunky machine to make to look great. BUT if you like turn-based gang battle RPGs, give it a try. (kind of nitch I know).
