Introducing Mordheim on Toornament!
Hi everyone!

We have a fun little announcement for those of you with a competitive streak in your bones.

For the past few weeks we’ve been working behind the scenes with the folks at Toornament to get Mordheim: City of the Damned up and running on their platform. This should make organising tournaments and leagues a much easier thing to do!

For organizers, Toornament offers up a simple way to structure and maintain your competitions, including deep settings for registrations and match setup, as well as multiple stages and structures like round robin, elimination, and bracket groups.

For participants, the real-time and easy to use interface (on web and mobile) will make finding, and signing up for, open events a breeze.

To get started, you can find Mordheim on Toornament here: https://www.toornament.com/games/mordheim_city_of_the_damned.

This is the first time we’re trying this platform out, so we’re keen on hearing any feedback you may have. Let us know what you think!

PLEASE NOTE: if you are already organising a tournament and are interested in migrating it over to Toornament let me know! I can help you out to make it as easy and seamless as possible.

Drop me a line if you need any help! I got a crash course from the Toornament folks, so know a few of the ins and outs of setting it all up.

The only dead we are is dead excited that you're still playing Mordheim (and/ or waiting very patiently for Necromunda news).

You win this thread. No contest.

This is great news. I'm not exactly a competitive player, but I see the appeal 100%, and appreciate this move.

I don't want to be the negative guy here, but I think I'm heading this way... It's just a very poor workaround. The game is meant to be leaguy... As any GW sidegame ( blood bowl, necromunda, gorkamorka, etc etc... ). It was just a big mistake to not include a league system in your game... And this toornament thing is far from enough. I guess Mordheim will never have such a thing, but I truely hope you'll not make this mistake with Necromunda... Mordheim was supeb, and even if not 100% sticky with the rulebook, it could have been enjoyable. The game to me went dead when I lost all hope to a real in-game league system. You made "solo-game design decisions" in a multiplayer game. This only fact is what killed this game... It could have lasted for ever with a true multiplayer system.

Thanks for the feedback! You're right, since we don't have the capactiy to add it into the game directly these days, but your note is exactly the kind of feedback that we consider as we continue development on Necromunda: Underhive Wars.

If we are giving a bit of a feedback, I´d say that, given how we are talking about turn-based games, a reconnect feature should be a must. Or at least a way to resolve desync as it happens, not so that the game stalls indefinitely as it does now when that happens.

So, in other words:
1: even in absense of server, a way for a reconnecting party to request the game information from the other party, and
2: A way to resolve desyncs, preferrably by regular status syncing of some sort, game information requests or something like that.

Because desync -> both lose is something I´d rather never see again. :b

Feedback is well and good, but the devs have stated that the MP won't change/be fixed - so we have to live with what we got (though it does stink at times).

What we CAN hope is that Necromunda will have a much more fleshed out, well working PvP aspect than Mordheim.

Thank you for getting it on Toornament - it is easier to arrange leagues now, almost done with our first Buddyhood Brawl League, next will be twice as big and twice as brawly!

Just putting this here too :)

The signup for BBL2 is now LIVE for the public! This Mordheim_COTD League is hosted by the kNightly Buddyhood, rules are made in cooperation with the community.

We hope to see new buddies join us! So far, at the time of writing, we have 15 participants of 24.

We play on PC.

Each tournament has different rules / regulations, so it really depends.
