Neverwinter Nights 2: Platinum

Noob looking for help
Hi,
I`m setting up a LAN-Party with some friends and we wanted to play NwN2. We looked for characters we want to play, but some google-results on how to build some characters really confused me. For example I wanted to play a Gnome with the Prestige Class Arcane Trickster. But I dont really find any build in which it is explained what abilities I should get etc. for a Gnome (all are for Humen etc. but I want a Gnome). This shouldnt be about effectiveness, instead it should be fun. Can somebody help me and give me a quick To-Do List how I can build a Gnome Arcane Trickster?

Thanks!

Give me like, 10 minutes and I can help you, gotta go look and re-read it. I hate gnomes, so I'm not sure off the top of my head.
Alrighty. Looks like you are probably going to want to multiclass a wizard and a rogue, because you will need skills from both before you can play as an arcane trickster. Probably run Rogue first, get your tumble. disable device and lore up to 7 in the first couple levels. At your 3rd level you get your required sneak attack 2d6, so the level after that, take wizard. Get your spellcraft skill up and gain access to your spells. A level or two later you should be able to pick Arcane Trickster like you want.

Intelligence and Dexterity are likely to be your main stats. Keep some spells handy, sneak attack a few people. It'll be fun. You will be a special type of support character, so have fun with it. You are also made of glass, you have a crap hit point gain every level, so make sure someone else is taking the hits. Have fun! If you have any other question, respond here. I'll respond when I see it.
Also, as for feats, it won't matter a ton, you could probably just pick reccomended. Typically, during the rogue levels, pick a weapon you want to focus on. Maybe pick weapon finesse. Because your damage is set to come from your strength, this will make it from your dexterity. Spells won't matter largely either. Just pick what interests you. Evocation spell are always fun for plain old direct damage. Feats from there should probably focus on survival, dealing damage. Maybe pick blind fight, a weapon focus for something, probably small. Increase crit damage feats. That kind thing.
Thanks. So when I create a Character i go Gnome, Rogue, any Alignment, any deity but then he asks me for some kind of specialization like assassin, rogue etc. What should i pick there?
I found this: http://nwn2db.com/build/?8255 I think I understand what they are saying there but would this be 1:1 transferable to a Gnome?
That's a completely viable option and you would only lose a feat or two. I stress though, that's mostly a power-gaming type build. You will find it extremely hard to gimp yourself in the main campaign. This focuses more on being a caster though. So you do have to figure out what you wish to play as. Do you want to play a rogue with some spells and tricks or a wizard with some thief skills? If you are playing for fun, I suggest you just kinda skim a few abilities and spells as you level and see what interests you most.

At 3rd level rogue you get your +2d6 sneak attack so you can drop rogue for a bit and focus on wizard until you get your 3rd level spells. After that, you can select your arcane trickster. Throw your levels in as you go.

Also, no, you need to be unlawful to be an arcane trickster. I always enjoy playing chaotic characters myself. I really must state, if you are playing for fun, you won't do anything wrong, don't worry about what you select, just make sure you get those core skills up for arcane trickster, then you can go on as you will!
weapon finess means your to hit bonus comes from dex (with certain weapons) your dmg still comes from str.
